There’s some disappointing news for those ready to see Firehouse 51 back in the action. Chicago Fire is taking another break, but we know when the series will return.
These types of breaks in the middle of the season are normal. NBC plans out a series of new episodes and then reruns to allow for a spread of episodes between January and May. Personally, I’d prefer one longer break in the winter with shows coming back in February, but this is just the way it goes for a lot of networks!
How long is the Chicago Fire break?
It’s not just Chicago Fire taking a break this Wednesday, Feb. 12. The entire One Chicago lineup is taking the week off, but there is some good news. This is a short hiatus.
The series will be back on Wednesday, Feb. 19. NBC made that nice and clear in the promo for the episode so that we all knew about it.
What to expect when Chicago Fire season 13, episode 13 airs
The new episode will see Firehouse 51 called out to a daring rescue. While at some sort of adventure park, a woman is caught in the rope hanging from the ceiling. It’s a race against time for Severide to get to her before she hangs herself accidentally.
This is going to spark an idea for a training module for Kidd. She wants her Girls on Fire program to include a rope course, and she’s going to ask Severide to help her put it together.
Hopefully, we’ll see a bit of talk on the topic of adoption. Kidd made it clear that while she doesn’t want to be pregnant and have a baby of her own, she does want to start a family with Severide. He is more than up for adoption, although at first it looked like he was going to be disappointed in the suggestion. I just love that adoption keeps coming up for the characters in the One Chicago shows, because it is needed and it is a valid way to start a family. There are so many children out there without families.
Chicago Fire airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
