Doc season 2 is racing toward the finish line, but the show continues to bring in some amazing guest stars, and episode 17 was no exception. The latest episode of Fox’s hit medical drama featured a few familiar faces that are sure to have fans picking up their phones to figure out where they know the guest cast from!
The first notable guest star in Doc season 2, episode 17, is a star of 911: Lone Star fans who are likely to clock right away! Benito Martinez drops in to play Havi, a doctor who Joan (Felicity Huffman) worked alongside via medical mission trips. Havi arrives at Westside Hospital in need of immediate treatment, and he’s sought out Joan, as there is no one he trusts more than his longtime friend to perform the procedure.
Martinez played Gabriel Reyes on 911: Lone Star, the father of Rafael L. Silva’s character, Carlos. While he only had a recurring role on the series, he made a lasting impression and played a pivotal role in the show from seasons 2 through 4. Of course, 911: Lone Star is just one of Martinez’s more recent credits.
Fans might recognize him from a number of his major television roles, which include playing David Aceveda on The Shield, Sheriff Diaz on 13 Reasons Why, and Todd Denver on How to Get Away With Murder. His additional credits include hits such as With Love, American Crime, The Blacklist, House of Cards, and Sons of Anarchy.

Also guest starring in Doc season 2, episode 17, is actor Alan Van Sprang. Sprang plays a billionaire named Zander, who comes to the hospital after discovering a suspicious mass in his lung which leads to a shocking discovery.
Sprang is perhaps best known for playing Valentine Morgenstern on Freeform’s hit supernatural drama Shadowhunters and his role as King Henry in The CW historical drama Reign. Sprang was brilliant in both series with scene-stealing roles, though the two shows are just a few of the many hit series you might recognize him from. In addition to Shadowhunters and Reign, Sprang has also appeared in titles that include In the Dark, King, Immortals, Rookie Blue, Paradise Falls, Land of the Dead, Diary of the Dead, and Narc.
The episode also guest stars Elena Juatco, who plays the wife of Sprang’s character in the episode. Doc fans with kids in the house might recognize Juatco from her voice work in the popular preschool series Mittens and Pants. In addition to her voice work on Mittens and Pants, Juatco has also appeared in hit series including SurrealEstate, Star Trek: Discovery, Jann, and Easter Sunday.

Rounding out the guest cast for the week is actor Connor McMahon, who plays a pivotal role in the show. McMahon is introduced as Ethan, the son of Felicity Huffman’s character, Joan. Ethan plays a key role in Joan’s journey in the episode in addressing her illness and coming to terms with the need to step away from medicine.
McMahon has appeared in guest spots on several hit series, including Boston Blue, Reacher, Hudson & Rex, SkyMed, and Accused, as well as several television movies, including A Country Encore and Would You Kill for Me? The Mary Bailey Story, Hotel for the Holidays, and Royally Wrapped for Christmas.
