We’re certainly ready for more Doc. The series has just scored a second season renewal, and for many good reasons. There is some bad news tonight, Tuesday, March 4, though.
There isn’t going to be a new episode of the new medical drama on tonight. This is disappointing for those who want answers to some of their burning questions. However, it’s got nothing to do with FOX really choosing the schedule here.
Why is Doc off the air this week?
Not only is there not a new episode, but there also isn’t a rerun. This is because the break has nothing to do with the need to spread out episodes. Instead, it’s linked to politics.
The Presidential Address to the Joint Session of Congress will take place on Tuesday night, and each of the four big networks will air their own news specials. They all start at 9 p.m. ET, meaning that the programming for the end of the night is thrown off.
While FOX will be able to air a new episode of Kitchen Nightmares, it needs to take a week off from Doc. This isn’t bad for the show, though. Remember that FOX has already renewed Doc for a second (and longer!) season.
When will Doc return with new episodes?
The medical drama will be back before you know it. It will return on Tuesday, March 11, which is next week. This was confirmed in the promo that was released at the end of the previous episode.
The new episode will see Amy confront Richard about the patient we learned about at the very beginning of the series. Richard did something that led to the death of a patient, but he has been trying to cover it up. Amy’s memory loss gave him time, but it looks like Amy’s memories are back. Now she wants answers, and that could put her at risk.
Her privileges have been restored at the hospital, though. She has staff beside her, but will that be enough to protect her job when Richard is now Acting Chief of Surgery?
It looks like we’ll also find out more of TJ’s backstory. There’s a flashback to a time on a plane in the promo, which shows Amy treating a younger TJ. Is this why he’s always tried so hard with Amy, knowing that there is another side of her?
