Thursday has finally arrived, but sadly there will be no new episode of Elsbeth coming viewers’ way this evening.
That’s right, Elsbeth is off the schedule for this week, and it’s a direct result of Matlock’s super-sized season finale event. This evening, Matlock season 2 will come to an end on April 23 with a special 2-hour finale event that will air from 9 to 11 p.m. ET on CBS. To make room for the extended season finale, CBS was forced to bump Elsbeth from the schedule, with the second hour of Matlock's season 2 finale airing at 10 p.m. ET, when CBS normally brings fans new episodes of its Carrie Preston-led drama.
While there will be no new episode of Elsbeth airing on April 23, there is some good news for fans!
Once Elsbeth season 3 resumes on April 30, fans can look forward to four consecutive weeks of new episodes. Following its final break in the season, Elsbeth season 3's remaining four episodes will air without any interruptions, with CBS bringing fans new episodes through May 21, when the season 3 finale will air.
Not only can fans look forward to four weeks of new Elsbeth as the season winds down, but they'll be able to enjoy the remaining episodes of the season an hour earlier. With Matlock wrapping its season on April 23, CBS has decided to move Elsbeth up an hour with new episodes dropping at 9 p.m. ET and airing directly after new episodes of Ghosts over the next several weeks. Elsbeth will then return to its normal 10 p.m. ET time slot on May 21 for its season finale with CBS set to air special 1-hour season finales for both George & Mandy's First Marriage and Ghosts.
During the three-week stretch in which CBS will be airing new Elsbeth episodes at 9 p.m. ET, CBS will be bringing fans a double pump of Elsbeth! We'll get new episodes at 9 p.m. ET followed by Elsbeth reruns at 10 p.m. ET, giving fans two hours with their favorite lawyer turned consent decree consultant for the NYPD!
