There isn't a new episode of Fire Country on CBS tonight, Friday, Jan. 10. Here's why, and what's on instead.

We would love to jump back into Bode’s story in Fire Country and see what’s next. There is some bad news when it comes to the show tonight, Friday, Jan. 10.

There isn’t a new episode of the firefighter drama on tonight. That’s not too surprising when you consider that CBS already warned us that the show wouldn’t return at the start of January. However, there is some good news for those who want to watch reruns of the series.

Fire Country is getting a rerun tonight, Friday, Jan. 10

There will be a rerun of the series tonight. We’re heading back to Fire Country season 2, episode 7. Titled “A Hail Mary,” Station 42 and the inmate program need to battle the growing negative public opinion. People don’t want inmates around them, especially if there’s a chance that they could get free. And so, it’s not surprising that there is a growing number of people against the camp.

Bode and Gabriela, among others, need to figure out a way to show how this camp is a good thing for both the inmates and the town. This leads to a news crew coming in to do interviews, but lives are put on a line when a fire breaks out. It’s a good thing for everyone else, of course. This means that the public can see what the Cal Fire program is doing for the community.

When will Fire Country return with new episodes?

We will have to wait a few more weeks for the return of the series. Fire Country will be back with new episodes on Friday, Jan. 31. It will be back at 9 p.m. ET/PT, sandwiched in between NCIS: Sydney season 2 and SWAT season 8, which is moving to the later timeslot.

There are no details about the episode just yet. We’ll likely get them closer to the time.

While it seems disappointing that we need to wait so long for new episodes, this is going to end up being a good thing. It reduces the number of weeks between January and May, which is always more than the episodes available. This helps to limit the breaks coming up, so the schedule remains more consistent. And we all know that we’d prefer a consistent schedule, right?

Fire Country returns on Friday, Jan. 31 at 9/8c on CBS. Catch up on the series with Paramount+.
