New details have emerged about CBS's upcoming Fire Country and Sheriff Country crossover, premiering on Friday, November 6.

The event kicks off with Sheriff Country when "a dangerous prison break escalates into a volatile hostage crisis against the backdrop of a massive, rolling wildfire near Edgewater. Sheriff Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin) must make high-stakes, difficult decisions with personal consequences that could alter the trajectory of the case and endanger lives."

The crossover will then continue in a new episode of Fire Country as "Bode Leone and the Station 42 crew join forces with Sheriff Mickey Fox (guest star Morena Baccarin) and her deputies. The teams must scramble to protect their loved ones and the Edgewater community caught in the middle of a volatile crisis."

Sheriff Country showrunner Matt Lopez shared his excitement about the major crossover in a recent TV Insider interview.

"I thought last season’s crossover turned out great, and I have to say, [having seen] the latest cut of the Fire Country side of the crossover, I think this crossover is better," Lopez teased.

"It’s exciting to see these casts mix again. It’s just a thrilling tale because, yes, there are these prison inmates who escape, but they escape in the middle of this massive wind event and fire," he continued. "And so you have two sort of pressure cookers simultaneously, full boil, full speed ahead, and we’ll sort of continue what we saw last season in the sense that there will be some really fun pairings of characters."

One "fun pairing" will be Manny Perez (Kevin Alejandro) and Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin). According to a recent promo clip TVLine obtained, the two have some history.

A couple of years ago, Sharon set Manny and Mickey up on a blind date, but it didn't quite go as planned. Mickey was upset about Manny's tardiness and that he took her on a Murder-Mystery date. Why would she want to solve crimes on her day off? Whereas Manny believes Mickey has a problem with the fact that he's an ex-con. Based on the short clip, there's still a lot of bad blood between the two that might hinder their ability to work together.

However, Fire Country showrunner Marc Guggeheim teases that a path forward for the two might exist. "Manny’s past will always weigh on him, and he assumes people judge him for it," Guggeheim explained. "Most of the time, he’s right, but he’ll discover in the crossover that that’s not always the case."

Sheriff Country and Fire Country air every Friday on CBS.
