Five 911 characters returns we want to see in season 10

As 911 heads into season 10, we're thinking about characters who we want to see back on the show. Here are 5 characters we'd love to catch up with in Season 10.

Season 10 of 911 on ABC is a huge accomplishment for the series, especially considering it was cancelled on FOX before being brought to its current home. With such a momentous season coming up, it would be great to see some familiar faces come back and reunite with the 118.

Oftentimes, when guest stars come on the show, it is either a complete surprise to the audience or enough sleuthing online determines we will likely see some familiar faces. Either way, there is always a return guest experience that surprises us one way or the other! So here are some fun callbacks we would love to see, whether a former guest star, love interest, or main cast members that we love and miss.

Of course, this list doesn’t encompass every character we’d love to see return, especially if, oftentimes, they will likely come whether or not we are prepared to see them. Some of these may be more likely than others, but it is still fun to think that they will make their return to 911 in some capacity.

5. Detective Lou Ransone

Lou Ransone (Sasha Roiz) was a detective Athena worked with on various cases from season 3 to season 5 of the show. At one point, he almost lost his life while searching for a serial rapist who had also gone after Athena when she began looking into him. Lou bonded with Harry after he was kidnapped by the same offender early in season 5. This was also when we last saw Lou. Now that Athena is a detective, it would be fun to see them teaming up together to work on cases in season 10. Plus, it could also be a full-circle moment for Lou to potentially see Harry in a work capacity and for them to see how the other is doing.

As much as we love to focus on the firefighter side of 911, this would be a great way to showcase another recurring character we haven’t seen in a while and to also give Athena more to work with now that she has a newer role in the police department.

4. Ali Martin

Ali (Tiffany Dupont) is one of Evan “Buck” Buckley’s ex-girlfriends, and while she did not have a lot of scenes in season 2, she was one of the few exes that fans do not have a lot of discourse about. She may have realized that she couldn’t be in a relationship with someone who is in danger every time she goes to work, but she did at least make sure she didn’t string Buck along after their breakup.

It would be fun to get a glimpse into how she is doing, and even for Buck to talk to someone he hasn’t been as close with in a while. Right now, Buck is busy taking care of his new foster son, Theo, so we don’t imagine he is looking for love at the moment, but he could get a chance to reconnect with someone he once cared about and be able to talk to someone outside of his close family and friends.

3. Tommy Kinard

Whether or not you like Tommy because of his relationship with Buck or you hate him because of his past history with Hen and Chimney, Tommy is one of those characters that is fun to play with. He has such a complicated backstory that it would be a waste not to see what has happened with him since the breakup with Buck. Plus, there was never definitive closure of their relationship.

The last time Buck and Tommy were really in a scene together, we got a sweet moment during a helicopter chase in season 8 where Buck thanked him for helping during the situation involving the lab lockdown that led to Bobby Nash’s death. While Tommy said his main reason was to help save Chimney Han’s life, he also added he did it for Buck too. Tommy did appear in the funeral episode but had no interaction with Buck. In season 9, Tommy was mentioned when Buck said he had not felt anything real with anyone since Tommy.

So seeing Tommy again would not only allow for Buck to get either the closure he needs or to potentially try for a relationship again. Although, like I mentioned above, with Theo in the picture, Buck may not be ready to dive into a relationship, especially since it also would impact Theo instead of just himself. But there are still fans who hold out hope that we will see a reunion between the former lovers again.

2. Michael Grant

Even though it is unlikely that Rockmond Dunbar might return to 911 after being a series regular for five seasons, we have seen actors recast on this show, mainly Elijah Cooper taking over the role of Harry Grant in season 7. Michael Grant is Athena Grant’s ex-husband and lives with his husband, David, in another state.

We did see a flashback episode in season 9 showing us how Athena met her soon-to-be husband and father of her two children. But in the wake of the death of Captain Robert “Bobby” Nash, who Michael was close with, Michael has been sorely missed in the wake of what happened. It would be amazing to see him reappear to check on Athena, Harry, and May, even if there was a new face attached.

1. Bobby Nash

It’s completely understandable why this would be a difficult one, especially since Bobby is dead, and Peter Krause is currently starring on a new show for NBC called Line of Fire. However, we have seen plenty of ghosts come back, most notably Devin Kelly, who has appeared either as Eddie Diaz’s ex-wife Shannon in flashbacks or as the doppelganger of said ex-wife. So it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for Bobby’s ghost to somehow make contact with one of his firefighters, his stepkids, or his widow, Athena.

Fans have been reeling since his death, and while it would likely not happen that he would come back alive, we would still love to see him somehow. There were times it seemed he would appear as a ghost in season 9, but alas, it didn’t happen. But if it did, it would be a surprising treat for all who miss him.
