Georgie wants to become a father again in Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage season 1, episode 16, "Baby Fight," after experiencing the joy of having CeeCee and seeing life through her eyes. I can't blame the guy, as fatherhood has been kind to him and helped shape Georgie's maturity.
He wants to have that feeling all over again, but by the laws of nature, it takes two to procreate. Mandy isn't on board with having another child just yet, and her decision caused friction within the family. However, her behavior and commentary could've gone in a more positive light, as she came off as immature and self-absorbed. While she does have a meritable say in parenting and whether going through another pregnancy is right for her, her current situation reflects differently from her first one.
Mandy wants a flourishing broadcasting career, but she feels like she won't be able to have that if she's pregnant. She also desired to leave Texas at one point and move to a flashier city like Miami, a dream Georgie didn't know about until she told him. It's discovered that the young couple's relationship hole is non-communication, and if they want to make this marriage work, then they better get to talking, as it'll solve issues before they occur.
However, Georgie and Mandy's argument spread to other family members. Jim, Audrey, Connor, and Mary (and Pastor Jeff) became the audience, and things only intensified from there, adding fuel to the fire. Jim is the only sensible in the situation who tries to stay out of it, and his attempts wind up being the jokes of the entire episode.
Georgie goes to his mom's house after Mandy kicks him out of bed for trying to seduce her when she isn't in the mood. The visit with Mary wasn't in vain, as the two reminiscences on George SR. and joked about if Sheldon was biologically his, as he carried none of the traditional Cooper physical characteristics.
Mandy's immaturity comes to light in Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage season 1, episode 16
Mandy might be in her thirties, but she acts half her age for a good chunk of the time. While she loves her daughter, she doesn't seem to accept the stages that come with raising her, such as teething. I got that indication at the beginning of "Baby Fight" when Mandy expressed annoyance that her daughter might teethe until she's three.
Then, there was the whole Connor situation when he revealed that he suffered through Mandy's bullying and teasing. The poor guy went through a broken collarbone, and for years, he never fully got over it until now when Mandy offered her apologies. I liked the bond that the siblings shared at that moment, though, as it showed that Mandy really does care for Connor, despite that she never expressed it.
There might be a future baby though for Georgie and Mandy, as the idea isn't completely erased. Right now, the couple will do just fine with CeeCee, and unlike some men, Georgie respected Mandy's decision. That tells us that he's a good husband, but his opinions should be considered, and if Mandy could just step up to see his points too, then that will make her a better wife.
Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage airs Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS.
