Mark wants to meet the silent partner in Ghosts season 4, episode 10. Take a look at everything that happened.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Ghosts season 4, episode 10.
Ghosts is back after its winter hiatus, and it’s time to see how Sam and Jay deal with the not-so-silent partner situation they’re in. Mark is done not meeting Isaac.
Meanwhile, Hetty learns that what she knows about her family isn’t quite true. How does she deal with finding out she has Irish descent.
Mark wants to meet the silent partner in Ghosts season 4, episode 10
Isaac has caused one problem after another in getting the restaurant off the ground. Mark has had enough with hearing the word “no,” and he wants to meet the silent investor. How do you do that when the silent partner is a ghost?
As Sam and Jay go through their options, Alberta brings up the idea of Kelsey, the scammer who tried to steal the house. Kelsey is willing to help as a thanks for Sam and Jay not turning her in for scamming, and for $7 and whatever is left on a Chipotle gift card. However, it doesn’t all work out the way that they think it will. Kelsey gets way too into the scam.
I do feel for Mark in this episode. Sam and Jay gaslight him when he says he’s sure they said the silent partner was male.
Kelsey gets far too into the role of silent investor, though. She also realizes that she can scam Mark out of money. Once a scammer, always a scammer. If this was a drama, Sam and Jay would have mentioned that this could be a problem early on. Even one of the ghosts would have brought it up. As this is a comedy, we just get to watch this very likely storyline.
Sam continues the lie that threatens the restaurant
Sam has to tell Mark that Kelsey is a scammer so that he cancels a check that he gave her. However, that means she needs to tell him why she lied about who the investor was.
Of course, she can’t pull Jay into this, so she pretends that Jay had no idea about Kelsey being a scammer. She decides that the silent investor is Jay’s dad, and that the two concocted a scheme to make sure Jay got the money he needed for the restaurant.
Mark is understandably angry. However, he says something that seems to sit with Isaac. Why does someone get all the say just because he has all the money? Mark says that he believed in Jay’s vision, and that’s the only reason he got on board with the project in the first place.
Isaac decides that it’s time to step back from the decision. He just wants to make sure there’s a ghost table for everyone. As Jay and Sam accept Isaac's apology, I have to wonder if Mark will. And I'm sure this is going to come up again!
Hetty gets a shock about her ancestry in Ghosts
For the longest time, Hetty has always believed she is an ancestor of British people, and she shares in the episode that the Woodstones may have a connection to the Royal Family. That means Sam searches on the ancestry websites for Hetty’s great-grandparents, only to get a shock of her afterlife.
She’s Irish!
Hetty thinks about doing a DNA test with Sam’s DNA, but Thor stops her. He tells her that her ancestor was always embarrassed about her Irish heritage. This is something that Hetty can’t get away from.
The other ghosts try to share why the Irish are so great. This includes “Orinoco Flow” by Enya, which is Pete’s favorite. While the song came out after his death, he’s been able to hear it. Hetty is far more interest in Colin Farrel, and I can’t really blame her.
The big question I have after watching the episode, though, is what is Alberta’s real name? Was that just a throwaway line?
Ghosts airs on Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
