Pete shares a recipe with Jay for his restaurant, but it leads to problems in Ghosts season 4, episode 13. Here’s a look at the events of the episode, which comes off the back of a two-season renewal!
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Ghosts season 4, episode 13.
We open the episode in 1982, watching Pete work with customers as a travel rep. The end of the scene sees a man walk in looking for traveler’s cheques, and we just know that this is going to come up again.
However, we then jump to the present day, with Pete sharing his “family” recipe for arrabbiata sauce. It includes diet Dr. Pepper, and I think I’m on board with this. I use diet coke to make a sweet and sour style dish all the time! Pop works!
Where did the recipe come from in Ghosts season 4, episode 13?
Pete isn’t too sure about using the recipe for Jay’s restaurant because it was Carol’s family’s recipe. Carol is worried, and it’s soon clear why that this is more worrisome than a customer leaving a bad review. Carol notes to Pete and a few other ghosts that her nephew is in the restaurant and is the one making a stink about the sauce. The nephew is in the mafia.
I feel for Jay. He just wants to have a successful restaurant. This is his dream, but the ghosts always make it a problem.
Pete gets to know a lot more about the work that he did. The travel agency was a front for the mafia, and only Pete was the legitimate employee. I do wish that Carol had had a conversation with Pete about this, but it just goes to show how selfish she was. Carol says that she thought Pete had figured it out and didn’t want to talk about it, but I don’t believe Carol for a second.
Jay agrees to take the dish off the menu, but there is still an issue. When the mafia returns, Carol makes it clear that the mafia will bleed the restaurant dry until they need a loan and then burn everything to the ground.
Carol may have a way to deal with the situation, but she refuses to go against the family. Well, Pete stands up to Carol pointing out everything bad Carol did against Pete. It turns out that Carol kept the books for everything against the mafia, and it’s all in a storage facility.
It’s perfect to get the mafia off their back. That’s not the only way the storage facility is a win. It turns out that customers sent postcards back to Pete. While the travel agency may have been a front, Pete was good at his job and made people’s holidays great.

Hetty wants to get her room back in Ghosts
Since the ghosts have had to double up in rooms, Hetty has dealt with Flower sharing everything on her mind. It’s not a good night’s sleep for the matriarch of the house, so she wants find a way to get her out. That’s not too hard.
Hetty suggests to Flower that she and Thor move in together. This isn’t something Trevor likes, and it doesn’t take long for Flower to tell Trevor that it was all Hetty’s idea—although not intentionally. This is Flower!
Well, there’s a big ploy in this. The two decide they’re going to play the ghosts against each other. Trevor suggests that he moves in with Hetty, but Alberta and Isaac don’t want them getting back together, so they agree to make some sacrifices. Isaac will give up his lodgings for the couple and will move into Alberta. It gives Hetty and Trevor their own rooms, which is just what they wanted.
This is sure to come up again at some point, isn’t it? How long will it take for everyone to realize that Trevor and Hetty are conspiring against the others with each other? And will then end up getting back together? I would love to see that happen! It probably won't take long for the other ghosts to figure things out if Flower can remember everything she has worked out.
