While Sam and Jay work on getting the ghost trap fixed for Sass, Flower proves she’s the smartest person in the room in Ghosts season 4, episode 18. What happens to Sass in the ghost trap, though?

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Ghosts season 4, episode 18

Coming off the back of the previous episode, we picked up with Sass looking for a way to get to Shiki. He decided that maybe there was a chance he could head to Shiki via the ghost trap, but to do that, Jay and Sam needed to get the ghost trap working again.

Meanwhile, Trevor and Hetty decided they wanted to teach Flower a lesson about money. That didn’t quite work out the way they expected.

Did Sass get to Shiki in Ghosts season 4, episode 18?

When Jay figured out that he wasn’t going to be able to fix the ghost trap, he called in help. It ended up being a guy who certainly knows a bit about ghosts, but not everything. To him, the idea of a ghost boundary sounds silly. So, is he right about his theory that the ghost trapped in the ghost trap would get smushed when crossing the ghost boundary in it?

Sass isn’t sure he wants to take that risk at first, but Joan ends up giving him a boost to do it. However, Joan also realizes that she is falling for Sass. As she workshops a message to Sass with Pete, Sass overhears it and gets the wrong idea. He thinks that Joan is telling Pete that she likes him, so he decides to jump into the ghost trap anyway after telling Joan that she can just leave.

Well, Pete gets to the trap to tell Sass that Joan actually likes him, but now he’s stuck in the trap. Jay picks up the trap to take it off the property, and Sam isn’t around to stop him, so it’s up to the ghosts to find a way to stop Jay. Thor jumps into the trap and uses his ability to get both of them out just in the nick of time. It was a great way for Thor to prove that he isn't the coward he seemed to be when he jumped behind Alberta when the ghost hunter wanted to get rid of all the ghosts in the room.

That’s great, but what about Joan? Well, she decided to come back to give Sass a piece of her mind and hears that he actually wants to be with her. It looks like Sass has a girlfriend!

Flower is the smartest person in the room in Ghosts

Look, I think that Flower is actually smart. She was just indoctrined into the cult and always high, so she only gets moments of lucidity to show off how smart she is. So, when Trevor and Hetty decide to teach her a lesson about how tempting it is to spend money rather than give to charity, she ends up playing them at their own game.

She decides to get the original ice skates worn by Moira Kelly in The Cutting Edge that Trevor originally wanted. By outbidding him and scoring the skates, she told Trevor that he can have them for double the price. If he doesn’t want them, she’ll just get Thor to electrocute them to the point of burning them. With the extra money, she can save the narwhals — if they exist, because I’m like Flower, and they definitely sound made up (I know they’re not!).

Trevor and Hetty do not like being played! It is a great lesson in capitalism, though.

Ghosts airs on Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
