Lives go on despite death, and that’s something Trevor learns in Ghosts season 4, episode 19. Meanwhile, Pete gets a few more details about his murderous girlfriend.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Ghosts season 4, episode 19.
There are some mysteries to solve in Ghosts season 4, episode 19. Just because everyone has always believed Donna had murdered her husband doesn’t mean that she did. Meanwhile, Trevor learns that his lineage didn’t end with him.
Who is Abby’s biological father in Ghosts season 4, episode 19?
When Pinkus comes to visit Woodstone Manor with his daughter, the conversation is all about why Pinkus is there. He keeps it light and somewhat PG, as he tells everyone all about how Trevor saved him from embarrassment the night that Trevor died.
It turned out that there was the phone number of a girl in the pocket of the pants, which Trevor notes was a woman called Laurie, who he had dated for a few weeks back in the day. Pinkus called the number when Trevor didn’t return home for a few days to see if she had any idea about where he was. Eventually, the two ended up getting together, they got married, and they had Abby.
After Abby goes to bed, Pinkus is able to share the real reason he wanted to come up to Woodstone Manor. He wanted to bring Abby to the place Trevor died because Pinkus learned a shocking secret. It turns out that his wife died, and before she died, she told him that Abby was actually Trevor’s daughter. The timing does match, and Trevor is more impressed that his has strong swimmers rather than anything else.
I actually really like the way Trevor handles the whole thing. He doesn’t attempt to deny it, and he doesn’t try to avoid anything about her. Instead, he wants to get to know her, which certainly leads to some awkward questions from Sam as she gets involved upon Trevor’s request. However, what I don’t like is that Trevor wants Pinkus to tell Abby who her biological father is when Pinkus says that he’s not too sure about telling Abby the truth.
Sam doesn’t really want to get involved in this, despite Trevor really wanting to see Abby’s reaction to the truth. This is up to Pinkus, especially with it being a big secret that even Pinkus hasn’t known for that long.
Trevor decides to involve himself by sending a message to Pinkus to get him to tell Abby, and of course, he accidentally sends the message to Abby. The whole situation plays out as you would expect. It’s great that Sam has learned by not getting involved in the ghost drama all the time, but Trevor also needs to learn that. Every time he uses his power to “help” or get his own way, he ends up making the situation completely worse.
Trevor is able to fix the mess by putting a slideshow of pictures of Pinkus and Abby. This gives father and daughter to make up (yes, Pinkus and Abby) and then Abby decides that she wants to get to know more about Trevor. There is just nothing online, except about his body being found. This is where Sam can help, with Trevor by her side to share information and ask his own questions.
I liked how this played out, mostly because Sam wasn’t the one to actually cause problems. She didn’t choose to get involved in the drama, and she was able to offer Abby and Trevor a moment without Abby even realizing in the end. If the ghosts keep doing this, though, the B&B isn’t going to last long because guests will get annoyed by all the meddling.

Pete goes on a murder hunt in Ghosts
The side story involves Pete, as he admits that he hasn’t broken up with Donna, the Caribbean ghost girlfriend who killed her husband. Donna says that she didn’t do it, and that she fled because everyone thought she had done it and she had Air Miles that were expiring — yes, Pete would understand that. So, Pete heads out on a murder mystery.
Of course, Pete was going to believe Donna’s words. He’s very easy to manipulate. For a moment, it seems like Pete was lied to by Donna, as he meets a ghosts next to Donna’s property who shares that Donna definitely killed her husband. That ghost should have avoided telling Pete the album he was constantly listening to on repeat for eternity.
Jay comes in with the win for this one. When he finds out the murder happened in 1982 but was listening to “Purple Rain” by Prince, Jay points out the flaw. The album came out in 1984. Why would this ghost lie? Well, it turns out that his wife killed the husband.
There is some good news for Pete and Donna. The real murderer is still alive, although much older. With the ghost sharing all the details of the murder and where the murder weapon was hidden, Pete has a way to save Donna’s legacy. There is even closure for this storyline, which I feared there wouldn’t be time to do.
This does open up some great storylines for future storylines, though. Pete thinks that he and Sam team up to solve cold cases, although she’s not interested in that. I would love to see that idea, though, and it could be a great spin-off with another living who can see ghosts!
Ghosts airs on Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
