Ghosts season 4 will not return with new episodes in 2024 (but we have a return date)

It was a fun Ghost-mas, but there's some bad news for those ready for new episodes of Ghosts season 4. There are no more new episodes this year, but there is some good news.

We’ve had a great string of episodes, and yes, Ghost-mas was amazing as normal, but there’s now some bad news. There are no more new episodes of Ghosts in 2024.

This won’t be surprising to a lot of people. After all, a lot of shows have gone off the air for 2024 now. It’s that time of year when the winter breaks start. A lot of them started in November! It doesn’t mean we like it, though.

There are Ghosts reruns next Thursday

There is some good news, though. While there are no more new episodes in 2024, we’ll still get to watch episodes of the series. There are two hours of reruns next Thursday, Dec. 26. CBS is putting on the two Christmas specials that have aired so far.

We start with last year’s Christmas special, which saw Bela bring a male friend to Woodstone Manor. While Sam tried to set them up, the other ghosts had alternate plans that involved Trevor. Then we move onto this year’s Christmas special again, where we got to meet Jay’s parents and saw Nancy possess Sam.

When will Ghosts season 4 return with new episodes?

The good news is there isn’t too long to wait for new episodes of the supernatural comedy to return. Ghosts is back with new episodes on Thursday. Jan. 30. It will return at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, straight after a new episode of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

The whole Thursday night lineup will return as normal on that date. We will likely have some breaks in the schedule in the run up to the May finales—assuming a May finale date at this point—but that makes the later January return all the better. Sometimes, Ghosts wraps its season in April, which could happen this year.

Why is Ghosts on a break?

What’s with the break? Well, this is perfectly normal for this time of year. The linear ratings take a dip as people spend time with family. They’re less likely to watch regular TV, so it doesn’t make sense for the networks to air new episodes.

The break also helps with scheduling of episodes. There are more weeks than episodes available between September and May, so breaks are needed. A longer break in December and January when the linear ratings already take a dip allow for fewer breakslater in the year.

Ghosts will return on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 8:30/7:30c on CBS. Catch up on the series on Paramount+.
