The interns have a day outside of the OR in Grey’s Anatomy season 21, episode 10. Meanwhile, Webber and Meredith cross paths for the first time since Catherine’s secret came out.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Grey’s Anatomy season 21, episode 10.

While the interns spend the day at Bailey’s house, Link, Amelia, and others deal with a patient who jumped off a bridge. No, it wasn’t what you think; she was celebrating her divorce. I’m here for that, but not the jumping off a bridge part!

Of course, the big question about the episode was whether Webber and Meredith would be able to work together. Even Nick was out in the cold with Webber.

Meredith and Webber need to work together in Grey’s Anatomy season 21, episode 10

Catherine Fox wants the best care for patients that she knows. It turns out that these patients have been given the runaround because of who they are and how they look, something that we hear about in the healthcare system all too much. Those who don’t want to believe that should take a look at a real hospital and real healthcare to find out what it’s really like.

When it’s clear that Webber doesn’t want to work with Meredith, Catherine puts everyone in their place. Meredith’s offer to recuse herself is to make sure the patient gets the best care. However, Webber needs to get his head out of his behind. He needs to accept that Meredith did the right thing for Catherine, and he would have done the same if everything was the other way around.

I do get a feeling that sometimes there are too many doctors trying to make decisions. Doctors don't make the best patients or the best spouses of patients. Nick doesn't want to use a liver but he gets pressured into it — why do I get a sense that this is going to lead to something bad? I do think that Nick should have said no to watching from the gallery, though. Evan should not have got special treatment, as it puts too much pressure on the doctors. Let them do their job!

Part of my just thinks Webber needs to grow up. He annoys me in ever scene that he's in right now. He gets so stuck in his own views and opinions, and he's not exactly helping the patient. What happened to "do no harm?" Get your own problems out of the situation!

Catherine does finally have some words of advice for Meredith. She makes it clear that Webber knows that Meredith was right, but that Meredith is using some of Webber's lessons against him. It's hard to get over something like that. Well, Webber just needs to suck it up.

Had the two actually worked together properly early on, Webber would have likely got the details of Tasha's Alzheimer's diagnosis earlier. At least it got Webber and Meredith back on speaking terms, and there was something the two could work on together. The problem is that withholding information has led to Tasha getting a transplant she potentially shouldn't have had, and it's going to put Catherine and Meredith against each other again. That's the last thing we need right now!

Fortunately, it turns out that Catherine didn't know, which means Webber and Meredith don't get angry with her. Instead, the issue is with Evan lying to everyone and handing over fraudulent records. I hope that this goes further, because as a doctor, Evan should be done for something here.

Bailey invites the interns to her home in Grey’s Anatomy

Bailey has certainly changed her tune since the first introduction of the interns. When they messed up, she kicked them out of the OR and made them do basic procedures. Now, she’s realized that there’s another way to handle the problem the interns have. It’s time to go back to something she enjoyed when she was a resident: get-togethers are Webber’s house.

She has hired a retreat manager to come in and help with the situation. Tensions are high between everyone, though, with Simone angry that Jules allowed her to take the fall for a mistake Jules made. To be honest, Simone hasn’t given Jules a chance to apologize, but Jules needs to try harder to offer that olive branch. It’s not up to Simone to allow for that to happen.

I always love when outsiders come in and hear about what the people at Grey Sloan Memoiral have been through. Lucas, Simone, and Blue haven't even been through as much as others, but the retreat manager still doesn't expect to hear about being shot and talking someone off a literal ledge.

Jules's breakdown is one of the most relatable things in the entire episode. So many people try to put a positive spin on bad situations, but there isn't always a positive way to look at it. In fact, this turns into toxic positivity, and it becomes more harmful. Sometimes, you just need to feel the bad, learn from mistakes, and move forward.

Jules having a break down helped Bailey have a moment with her and open up. This is something that should have happened before the breakdown happened, though. In the end, it does help to bring the interns closer, but there were better ways to do that, and I'm sure the interns haven't actually learned anything.

Winston and Ben handle a heart transplant together

Things get personal between Ben and Winston while they are on the way to a heart transplant. I love that we get a look inside the world of men dating. Not all of them are terrible people, although Winston has certainly had some issues with his ghosting habits. I don’t think he’s ready to settle down again, though. This is a man who has a bad habit of rushing into things, if we just look at how quickly he moved across the country for Maggie.

Ben was so cute when talking about how he once dated a divorced woman and had to wait for her to be ready for a relationship. I swear this was a note to Winston to slow it down a little, but also that the right person will wait for him. Oh, and yes, Bailey was worth the wait!

It can't just be a simple trip to get a transplant, though. That's never the way it happens. There's an accident on the road and the two need to stop and help. Having doctors is great, but having Ben there is even better considering his Station 19 storyline. The problem with all of this is that the transplants are sitting in ice in the car. Couldn't Ben have taken the transplant organs while Winston treated the patient once the paramedics turned up? I guess, it was surgery in a literal field, so I guess not, but the discussion didn't even come up.

In the end, it all works out, but it could have gone the other way.

Winston does end up plucking up the courage to ask Jackie's mom on a date again, but it doesn't go that well. The mom puts her daughter first, and I love it.

The case of the divorce party in Grey's Anatomy

I am always up for a divorce party, but not for jumping off a bridge! This patient ends up with a spinal fracture and a risk of paralysis.

I'm not really sure what this storyline was about. There could have been so much more with this storyline, especially if Winston was the one part of the care team. There is a good lesson in grieving a broken relationship rather than jumping straight onto the next, and it's another reason why I think Winston needed to hear this.

What it does do is allow Link to realize that he needs to propose again. Hasn't he learned from the last time? Actually, this time he has learned. He didn't plan something major and he had some genuine reasons to ask Jo. The two have shown that they can weather storms, and this time he got a yes. I just hope that he and Jo stay together now. This couple needs to work for my heart to have any faith in love.

I did adore him wanting Jo to pick her own ring. It probably is the right thing considering Link's past experience.

It's clear that Evan's storyline is going to continue as the truth about Tasha comes out. I just hope that this is the endof Webber's grudge holding, because he really was holding the grudge against the wrong person.

Grey’s Anatomy airs on Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC. Catch up the following day on Hulu.
