Grey’s Anatomy fans tuning into season 22, episode 16 are sure to spot a very familiar face checking into Grey Sloan Memorial. “Take Me to the River" welcomes a veteran actor of TV and movies, with Michael Weston dropping in to play a patient in need of treatment.

Weston plays single father Quinn Durston, who has stage four hepatocellular carcinoma and is awaiting word from the FDA for a procedure that Bailey and Blue hope will give him additional time.

Weston is no stranger to the big and small screen, with credits for many hit series. Many of his roles include unforgettable recurring arcs on hit series such as Law & Order: SVU, where he played Simon Marsden, the half-brother of Olivia Benson. SVU fans first met Simon in the show’s eighth season, and he would make several appearances on the show up until his final appearance in season 21 when Simon was killed off the show.

He’s also no stranger to the world of medical dramas, having recurred in the second season of Fox’s hit medical drama The Resident. Fans of the series will recall he played Gordon Page, the owner of a corrupt medical device company called QuoVadis. He’d become the villain of the season and went out in a blaze of glory, dying in a fiery car crash while trying to evade police capture after he was exposed for selling faulty medical devices.

If you’re an Apple TV+ subscriber, you might have enjoyed Weston’s recent role in the drama Home Before Dark. Weston led the cast as Lt. Frank Briggs Jr. in the short-lived series, which ran for two seasons from 2020 to 2021.

These are, of course, just a few of Weston’s many TV credits, which also include The Good Doctor, NCIS, NCIS: Hawai’i, In the Dark, Hawaii Five-0, Elementary, Those Who Kill, Psych, House, ER, and Scrubs. Meanwhile, on the film side of things, you might recognize Weston from films such as Bark, Pathology, Garden State, State of Prey, and The Dukes of Hazzard.

Also guest starring in the episode is Marisa Coughlan as Dr. Braider, the head of Cascade Hill, a rural hospital who we met when Owen, Teddy, Simone, and Dani head out to provide support. Coughlan has appeared in many hit series and films through her career, including Legacies, Bones, Medium, Side Order of Life, Boston Legal, Wasteland, The Magnificent Seven, and more.

Rounding out the guest cast for the episode are Lawrence Mandley (How to Get Away With Murder, Animal Kingdom, Seinfeld) as Richard’s barber and Van Crosby (The Family Plan, Criminal Minds, Splitting Up Together) as Logan, Quinn’s teenage son.
