All the NBC shows renewed so far in April 2025

As we inch closer to the final renewal and cancellation decisions, we take a look at all the NBC shows renewed so far.

We’re getting closer to May, which means Upfronts. Of course, that means that day when all the bulk renewals and cancellations come in. Some networks are leaving us with a lot on the line, and NBC is one of them.

There aren’t many NBC shows renewed (or even canceled!) so far. Let’s take a look at the ones we can get excited about. This is only for scripted shows. Reality TV is a different beast, and we’ll take a look at that separately.

NBC shows already renewed

So far, only two shows have been renewed for NBC, and they are both comedy shows. This is great news for comedy, as sitcoms have struggled a bit across the broadcast networks recently. I don’t think it’s bad comedy, and I think it’s more to do with the way viewing habits are changing — and the broadcast networks need to consider that rather than just canceling shows.

Anyway, both of the comedy shows that have been renewed are new shows as well. It’s clear that people are still interested in this genre of TV.

St. Denis Medical became one of the first shows to be renewed across all broadcast networks. It was clear as soon as it started that it would be a hit, and it is the most-viewed comedy on the network in the average demo, according to TV Series Finale.

Happy’s Place is the most-watched comedy in the average total audience, and with that news, it won’t be surprising to hear that the series also landed a renewal. Reba McEntire leads and outstanding cast, and with that first season over now, we’re excited to go into the summer break knowing that we’ll get more.

Which NBC shows are likely to be renewed

While the network hasn’t renewed everything just yet, there are certain shows that we expect to score renewals. This is because the linear ratings remain strong, and because there’s clearly a loyal following for them.

The following shows are pretty safe, as long as there are no surprises in terms of costs for running the shows:

Chicago Med
Chicago Fire
Chicago PD
Law & Order: SVU
Law & Order
Night Court

The other shows on the bubble are a little too on the fence for my liking. The two shows I would love to see renewed are The Hunting Party and Found, and they could just skirt through this season. However, I’m worried about almost everything on the bubble right now. Could we end up seeing a very different TV schedule in the 2025–2026 season?
