NCIS: Origins lead teases big moments for the fans in upcoming episode
The first season of NCIS: Origins has done an amazing job of providing us with plenty of background when it comes to Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs’s beginnings as a field agent with NIS alongside his eventual mentor Mike Franks. While we have slowly begun to flesh out the connections Gibbs has with those he works with in 1991, that won’t change as we get further along.
One example of this is the last episode, which revealed who the agent was that asked to be taken off the security detail for Gibbs’s wife, Shannon, and their daughter, Kelly. It turned out that Agent Bernard “Randy” Randolf had a newborn son at home and was exhausted. He asked to be removed due to the exhaustion and danger of the case.
Even though the audience knows now of the agent in question, we don’t know for sure if Gibbs knows it’s Randy himself. He is aware that Mitchell replaced another agent, but that doesn’t mean he knows the person’s identity. This will make for a fascinating journey for Gibbs. But what else can we expect for the grieving widower and father as he continues his steps towards becoming the person we know him to be in the future?
A powerful episode of NCIS: Origins coming up
TVLine reported that actor Austin Stowell revealed that fans of the show are sure to pay attention to the events that happen in the Dec. 9 episode of NCIS: Origins. He said the episode itself was “really, really powerful” and that what happens during the course of the hour will include events that “mean a great deal to the fan base.”
The episode, “Vivo o Muerto,” will find LaLa and Gibbs in Mexico on a case as they search for a missing woman who had gone missing after going out clubbing with a Navy seaman. During the investigation, they will discover there is a connection that could involve something in his past.
Could this involve Hernandez himself? We haven’t gotten confirmation yet if he has killed Hernandez at this point, although we did find out that he knew about his whereabouts before he officially joined NIS. At any rate, if he is returning to Mexico after having killed Hernandez, this would be an interesting look into how Gibbs handles going back considering what happened.
NCIS: Origins has been an exciting one to watch so far. We’re excited to continue on the journey with Gibbs as he grows in his job and forms connections that will inform the kind of agent he will be. With two episodes left to go before the show goes on midseason hiatus, it’s going to be quite the ride!
