NCIS: Origins is less than a month away from the season 2 finale, which is hard to believe. The second season has been so fun to watch, and we are not ready for the finale to air! Now that CBS has released the synopsis for the season finale, what can we expect once it airs in May?
The season 2 finale of NCIS: Origins is set to air on May 5, which is earlier than its predecessor, NCIS. In the episode titled “Hollywood Ending,” the Camp Pendleton office is facing the possibility of a shutdown, leading the team to worry about the future.
We know eventually Gibbs will make his way to D.C. However, this is far in the future, so we have no idea for sure how long he stayed at Camp Pendleton. Plus, we know based on the show’s current timeline that eventually NIS would be restructured and renamed NCIS. So this could be something we see in play either in the finale or very soon.
With a small handful of episodes left before the season 2 finale, there are so many ways that the finale episode could play out for the team.
NCIS: Origins season 2 has been following Gibbs as he continues his probationary year at the Camp Pendleton NIS office. In season 2, he dealt with a new marriage, his unspoken feelings toward colleague Cecilia “Lala” Dominguez, and he started building what would be his first of many boats.
We also learned more about other beloved characters, such as the romance between Mary Jo and Dalton Basement, while the Fed Five was officially introduced. Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard made a couple of appearances, and we got an arc involving Mike Franks and his brother, Mason. There’s been a lot to love about this season, and we are looking forward to seeing what comes in season 3.
Until then, you can watch a new episode of NCIS: Origins on Tuesday, April 14, on CBS at 9/8c. In that episode, “Johnny B. Goode,” Lala’s relationship with her boyfriend, Manny, begins to clash with her job when she tries to get him out of being part of the gang life. The team will end up in a turf war, and most likely, they will learn who her boyfriend actually is.
How this affects her relationship with Gibbs remains to be seen, but we’re looking forward to seeing what happens in the episode.
