It was recently announced that the newest take on Sherlock Holmes has been canceled. CBS pulled the plug on the series, Watson. It is, however, allowing you to finish out its second season.
The cast and writers seem to be attempting to pull out all the stops as the series will be finishing out its storylines. In the penultimate episode, "The Rule of Three," it looks like it is attempting to do just that.
In the episode, the titular character, John Watson, is still trying to figure out how to deal with his brain tumor and whether or not he should continue treatment. Watson and Mary will be heading to Baltimore to work with a specialist in the finale in Baltimore, and we'll have to see how the story ends in the series finale.

Elsewhere in the penultimate episode, Adam Croft has his three babies with his fiancée Lauren. They have to wait due to doctor issues, and Lauren does face complications. For anyone who has gone through a tough birth of their baby, it is an emotional moment for the series. Anyone who has followed Adam and Lauren's love story also has a payoff.
The triplets are born, naming the son after Watson. It is a happy ending, and the finale should focus on how the two are dealing with raising triplets.
Meanwhile, Carlin and Shinwell (nurse and aide) work through their romance. Carlin is injured by a patient and has to wait to see if she has HIV. The writing between the two is strong. Both speak of their romance, and Shinwell, who has been with Watson from the beginning, speaks of his fear for the titular character.
At the end she finds out she does not HIV and proposes to Shinwell. Hopefully for audiences, they will find a joyous ending for the two in the finale. Shinwell soon, though, discovers that Sherlock Holmes is at the hospital but does not remember him.
With Sherlock being in the finale, it should add more depth and emotion to the finale. A decision will need to be made if Watson will live through the brain tumor. Now the series has just one more episode to answer those questions.
The finale will air on Sunday, May 3, and the emotion should be on full display. The series had issues in the ratings, but if it can have another strong episode, it should have a cult following after the series wraps up.
