6 CBS shows that won't air in Fall 2024 (delayed premieres)
The CBS schedule for the 2024-2025 season is packed with plenty of our favorite shows, but unfortunately, that also means some shows have been pushed back to the midseason. This is mainly due to the presence of new television series and other shows that will be completing their final run, such as Blue Bloods.
For the Fall 2024 CBS schedule, there will be regular scripted and unscripted shows airing and new shows joining the lineup. This includes Matlock, Poppa’s House, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, and NCIS: Origins. Surprisingly, one Wednesday night show has been held back to make way for a new reality show, The Summit.
Plus, with Blue Bloods ending, this will also allow for one midseason show to take over the time slot, which is the case with NCIS: Sydney. There is only one new series that will be airing midseason while Wednesday nights will be known as “Game Show Wednesdays.” This lineup will serve as the winter midseason break before spring shows air.
In scheduling their 2024-2025 lineup, CBS did take into account a possible strike from the IATSE. CEO and President George Cheeks said that if any changes need to be made, “we are ready.”
Here are the shows that will be premiering during the midseason in 2025.
CBS shows coming in 2025
The Amazing Race season 37
Normally, The Amazing Race follows Survivor Wednesdays in the fall, but instead, it will be pushed back to midseason. Not much is known yet about what to expect from season 37, but there could be a new twist. Even though we have to wait for new episodes of the show to start, at least during the fall we can still get our Wednesday night fueling with Survivor and The Summit.
NCIS: Sydney season 2
NCIS: Sydney was originally slated to stream on Paramount+ before being added to the television time slot with the first season. Due to the show being produced in another country, the scheduling for the actors involved would make it beneficial for the show to air midseason. Plus, the move to the Friday 8/7c hour would fill the gap that will take place once Blue Bloods finishes airing.
Watson
This new CBS series starring Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson is part of the new series lineup from the network. It’s the only new scripted show pushed back to air during the spring midseason and will follow Watson as he moves from detective mysteries to medical mysteries. It will take the 10 pm timeslot that was previously held by CSI: Vegas.
The Price is Right at Night
The Drew Carey led game show will air during the winter midseason break on Wednesdays in before The Amazing Race kicks off in the spring. It will air at 8/7c.
Raid the Cage
The winter midseason will see plenty of game shows during the Wednesday CBS schedule and this includes the return of Raid the Cage. Hosted by Damon Wayans, Jr. and Jeannie Mai, the series will air at 9/8c after The Price is Right at Night. This series follows teams of contestants as they race to grab prizes from the cage while also answering trivia questions.
Hollywood Squares
Set to premiere during the winter midseason break, the popular game show will get a new iteration with actress Drew Barrymore playing the center square. The game consists of two players who play a game of tic-tac-toe in order to win prizes, including cash. For the contestants, the object of the game is to judge whether the celebrities’ answers to questions are accurate in order to win. It will take the Wednesday evening slot at 10/9c.
