911 has some big moves coming in season 7, and one of the biggest is the much-awaited Chimney-Maddie wedding! Here's what might make this event special!

Fans are still adjusting to how season 7 moves the series from its longtime home of Fox to ABC. That will bring some changes to the show with a bigger budget yet the same drama and excitement fans love.

One event fans are anticipating is the wedding of Chimney (Kenneth Choi) and Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt). The pair have had ups and downs, with Maddie needing time away for her postpartum depression and Chimney searching the country for her. They're finally back on track and fans are hopeful for the big wedding day.

In a long article in Entertainment Weekly on season 7, both actors promised that this isn't going to be a fake-out; the wedding is happening, with Hewitt detailing a bit more about how the delays are natural due to the hectic lives the pair have.

"You will hear little bits about it, but honestly the emergencies are massive and exciting from the start — so being first responders keeps them busier than wedding planning. But we know the audience is waiting for these two to get hitched, and they won't have to wait long."

Choi teased that episode 6 will have some pre-wedding hijinks, such as a bachelor party that, of course, goes awry. However, that still leads to the big day itself and what it can involve.

What will the Madney wedding be like?

Some suspect the wedding will be the focus of the show's landmark 100th episode. Showrunner Tim Minear stated that it won't be the same massive wedding as 911: Lone Star's TK and Carlos as they want to put a different spin on it.

"Finding an interesting way into their wedding has been a lot of fun because I had just come off [spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star] where I had done the big wedding between TK and Carlos. I didn't want to do that again. So I think I came up with something different, and I think it's going to be incredible."

It's all too likely the ceremony may be delayed by some emergency even as the pair are desperate to make it work. So while it's probable Maddie and Chimney have some challenges getting to the altar, making this wedding work is going to be a great highlight of 911's newest season.

911 season 7 premieres Thursday, March 14 at 8/7c on ABC.
