NCIS fans, rejoice! After a decade, Tony and Ziva are coming back in a new spinoff show! Here’s what to know about the new series and when and where it debuts!

Season 3 of NCIS started on a shocking note as Kate Todd (Sasha Alexander) was killed in the line of duty. Coming in to replace her was Ziva David, a Mossad agent played by Cote de Pablo. From the first scene, she and Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) had fantastic chemistry, constantly bantering and insulting each other, but clearly, some sparks were flying.

In 2013, de Pablo shocked everyone by suddenly leaving the series with Ziva seemingly killed in a mortar attack off-screen. It was later confirmed she and Tony had indeed gotten together with Tony learning they had a daughter. He left NCIS to care for her.

Ziva was revealed to be alive in season 17, aiding the team for a bit before heading to Paris and a reunion with Tony. That was the last of her, while DiNozzo made a surprise cameo in the recent tribute episode for Ducky.

That naturally led to speculation about whether either could return with Weatherly recently pushing it with a tweet in response to fan hoping the work he had to do involved "a certain Chilean." He replied, "The universe works in mysterious ways." Now, news has broken that the pair are indeed coming back in a new show and here’s what we know!

What’s the new spinoff about?

Per TV Line, the new series will debut on Paramount+ with Weatherly and de Pablo as Tony and Ziva. They’ll also executive produce the show with John McNamara as showrunner.

The storyline has the pair raising their daughter while running a security firm. When it comes under attack, the pair must race across Europe to find out who’s after them and maybe get around to trusting each other again.

The actors issued a joint statement on how it felt coming back.

" We’ve been talking about this story for many years, and now with John McNamara at the helm, we are ready. The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears and laughter. We also want to acknowledge and thank the fans from around the world who supported the ‘Tiva’ movement for years. To this day, they say hello in grocery stores and on the street to tell us how much these characters mean to them and ask what Tony and Ziva are up to now. This is for you!"

McNarama added his own feelings.

"I’m incredibly excited to step into the NCIS universe with Cote and Michael and thrilled to explore it from a few new angles. Given that the franchise is such a global sensation, I think it’s phenomenal that CBS Studios and Paramount+ have given us the greenlight to shoot in Europe."

So far, the show’s title isn’t known yet, with McNamara teasing, “If I told you what it is, I’d be violating the Espionage Act.”

With shooting set to begin later this spring to make a fall release date, fans of NCIS are in for a great new thrill ride with Tony and Ziva together again and set to remind fans just how wonderful “Tiva” was.
