It appears All My Children could soon be making a comeback, just not in the way fans might be expecting.

While nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, TVLine is reporting that Lifetime is currently in preliminary discussions to bring All My Children back not as a TV series but as a series of TV movies! Details are limited at the moment, but it appears the plan would be for these new TV movies to be part of a franchise on the network that would transport viewers back to Pine Valley and would feature “legacy characters” from the daytime series.

According to reports, the conversations are in very early stages so nothing has been locked down just yet but we have a feeling once fans catch wind of the discussion, Lifetime will quickly be able to drum up support. Fans have been longing to see the former ABC daytime drama return in some capacity, and audiences would surely embrace TV movies set in Pine Valley.

Honestly, bringing All My Children back as a Lifetime movie franchise would be a genius way to revive the franchise which ended its run on ABC back in 2011 before ending officially in 2013 following a brief web series continuation.

Lifetime movies are known for bringing delicious, over-the-top drama, with plenty of unexpected twists and turns which is exactly what audiences have always loved about daytime dramas such as All My Children. So bringing the franchise back as a Lifetime movie franchise would be a perfect way to reunite fans with the characters of Pine Valley they knew and loved, while also bringing new actors into the mix to shake things up and keep things fresh.

Although talks are in the early stages, this isn’t the first time The Walt Disney Company has expressed an interest in revisiting the world of All My Children. As TVLine’s report reminds fans, ABC attempted to bring the show back via a primetime iteration of the series titled Pine Valley, so clearly the network is invested in bringing the franchise back to life.

We can only hope that this particular project will move forward and can’t wait to see which former stars might sign on to return for the Lifetime movies, top of the list being the face of the franchise: Queen of Daytime Susan Lucci!
