It's almost time for a new episode of American Idol 2024, and I can't wait! We're only in the beginning of season 22, but there's already been two Platinum Ticket recipients chosen already - Odell Bunton Jr. and Abi Carter (who sang "What Was I Made For? by Billie Eilish!). The two lucky contestants will each have an advantage during Hollywood Week, skipping the first brutal round.
But this evening, we're still at the auditions so let's not get too ahead of ourselves. A new episode of American Idol airs tonight, March 3, 2024 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. We're going to see the auditions continue as talented aspiring singers come through to sing their hearts out to judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie. We continue to get glimpses into the judges' hometowns as well.

- Central: 7 p.m. CT to 9 p.m. CT
- Pacific: 5 p.m. PT to 7 p.m. PT

Last week on Idol
Last week on the Feb. 25, 2024 episode, there were quite a few standout contestants who came in for audtions. One treat us fans got is seeing third place finalist Colin Stough again! He comes in during 24-year-old Noah Peters' audition. The Charleston, Tennessee barber first sings "I Won't Let Go" by Rascal Flatts. When Stough walks in, he gets a haircut from Peters and the two belt out "Broken Halos" by Chris Stapleton. While the judges are a bit reluctant, Peters gets the golden ticket.
We also had 24-year-old songwriter Emmy Russell who turns out to be country music star Loretta Lynn's granddaughter. From Nashville, Tennessee, Russell sings her own original song called "Skinny." There was also Ziggy, 22, from the Netherlands who performed "Million Reasons by Lady Gaga. Kaibrienne Richins, who is 20 years old from Utah, has a strong voice and impressed the judges with "Something in the Orange" by Zach Bryan.
American Idol season 22 airs new episodes Sunday nights on ABC. Episodes are also available to stream on Hulu.
