The end of a series usually means the end of seeing characters. That doesn’t have to be the case for Station 19. There is the opportunity for some characters to move into Grey’s Anatomy.

There are a few characters where this would make sense more than with others. Maya and Ben are the two that make the most sense considering their connections to characters in that series, Carina and Bailey.

Jason George talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the chances of his character, Ben Warren, going back to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. What are the chances of Ben being in Grey’s Anatomy next?

Ben Warren looks to be getting ready to go back to surgery in Station 19

During the penultimate episode of Station 19, we saw Ben perform surgery in the middle of the field. This is not the first time that he’s used his surgeon training in the field. This time, it seems to hold a little more weight.

Ben has been dealing with age and feeling like he can no longer really be an effective firefighter. He did start taking testosterone to help, but it seems like his passion is moving back to surgery. One thing with Ben is that he’s always chased the high of helping people, and it is possible that he feels like he can do more as a surgeon.

Of course, this doesn’t mean he’ll want to go back into the world of being a surgeon in a hospital. We may find that he joins a team that sees him treat more people in the field. This could open the door for him to return to Grey’s Anatomy, but not necessarily as a surgeon again.

We could see Ben and Bailey at home in Grey’s Anatomy

Even if Ben doesn’t decide to become a surgeon again, it doesn’t rule out the possibility of seeing him again in the flagship series. George says that he thinks there are still plenty of stories to tell when it comes to his character Ben and Chandra Wilson’s character Bailey.

"I like to think that there’s still a Ben-Bailey, or Benley, story to tell. I think that’s a possibility. There may be conversations."

We see the two at home together a lot. We also get a chance to see them raising their three children—and yes, Joey is considered their son and Pru is most definitely raised as a daughter but not in a way that forgets Miller. These two have the biggest hearts, and we deserve to see more of their lives together. With shows struggling with happy couples, Grey’s Anatomy brought us realism with the two of them. They have their disagreements, but we see them work through those disagreements with compassion and communication. TV needs to bring more of these types of couples to offer hope for people in real life.

So, we’re not ruling out Ben returning to Grey’s Anatomy. Maybe we could get more Carina and Maya that way, too!
