Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is coming in 2024; here's where to stream the original movies

In the 1980s, Eddie Murphy was one of the biggest comedy stars around, and his all-time biggest hit was 1984's Beverly Hills Cop. He played Axel Foley, a wisecracking Detroit cop who hunts a drug dealer in Beverly Hills. The movie played on the comedy of Foley mixing it up in the posh California neighborhood and befriending local cops Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton). 

A 1987 sequel followed, although a 1994 third film didn't do as well. In 2013, CBS ordered a pilot with Brandon T. Jackson as Foley's son, now a cop in Beverly Hills, with Murphy himself making a cameo. The network passed on the series. 

Now, Axel is back and as wild as ever in a new film!

What is Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F about?

The trailer shows Foley is still on the streets as his maverick attitude gets him in trouble a lot. His daughter Jane is under threat, which sends Axel back to Beverly Hills, reunited with Billy and Taggart and soon tracking a criminal conspiracy. 

Detective Axel Foley (Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter Jane's (Taylour Paige) life is threatened, she and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.

Who stars in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F?

Obviously, Murphy is back as Axel, along with Reinhold and Ahston. Also, Paul Reiser reprises his role as Axel's Detroit buddy Jeffrey, and yes, Bronson Pinchot is back as Serge, the scene-stealing shop owner. 

New to the cast is Taylour Paige as Axel's daughter Jane and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin Bacon as Beverly Hills police officers who clash with Axel.

Where can you stream the original Beverly Hills Cop movies? 

Right now, the best place to stream all three previous Beverly Hills Cop movies is on Paramount+. It’s unsure if Netflix will be adding them in time for the new film to come out but it does sound likely so fans can binge all the movies together on the streamer. 

When does Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F come out?

So far, Netflix only says the movie is set to come out in the summer of 2024. It sounds like there's still some post-production work to finish before Netflix can nail down a specific date. 

So it's a bit of a wait, but it should be worth it as, at last, Axel Foley is back in action and ready to make Beverly Hills a wild place to be.
