The Bold and the Beautiful has finally opened the door to the possibility that there might be two killers responsible for the deaths of Tom and Hollis. Fandom has been speculating about this for some time now but the narrative has consistently put forth that there's one killer on the loose. That's now changed thanks to a conversation the Nozawa sisters had on Monday, Aug. 19's episode.

Poppy has been adamant that she didn't commit murder. She was sobbing as she tried to get Li to believe her. She has no idea why someone might have done this or why she's being framed but the wrong person is being punished. Poppy is the one who suggested that there might be two people involved in this murder mystery. This came as a shock to Li and it was an interesting suggestion since there hasn't been anything that implies this is the case, at least when it comes to what Poppy's been privy of during the storyline.

As such, I do believe that line was meant for the audience to sit up and pay attention to so we could start speculating about who might have paired up. Back at the start of this storyline, there were questions around whether Li and her ex-husband Jack Finnegan might have joined forces. He's protective of his former sister-in-law and Li might have had her own reasons for wanting Tom dead. Their partnership, however, was dropped as a possibility once Hollis died.

From there the narrative that Tom was a premeditated murder while Hollis' death was a result of him finding Tom's backpack and reading the letters inside began to take shape. While this still could have been a singular killer, it's possible the person who went to go get the bag didn't murder Tom but made a decision to take Hollis out to cover the first killer's tracks.

Then, in order to ensure no smoke blew back on them and their accomplice, Poppy was framed. She doesn't have many people on her side. Li's supporting her now but it's primarily about taking care of Luna. Her daughter doesn't know what to believe, she's flitting back and forth between horror that this is happening and questioning whether or mom actually did kill someone. Bill is also at a loss for answers but weirdly hasn't done anything to try to help Poppy even though they're together.

If there are two killers on the loose, the big question is why did they do this? Motive is key here and it does seem to hinge on Luna and the story around who her father is. Potentially this all boils down to what someone believed the young Nozawa deserves and their determination to make sure she got it.
