If you've seen the preview for this week's run of The Bold and the Beautiful then you know that Ridge Forrester has a request of his love, Brooke Logan, that's primed to shake things up at Forrester Creations. He wants her to help him and Steffy push the company forward, but I can't help but wonder if we might be getting a storyline where there are two female heads of the fashion firm.

Currently, both Ridge and Steffy are Co-CEO. But, in Friday, May 31's episode of the soap, Ridge had mentioned to his daughter that she was a brillaint business woman. That angle of their work has never been a favorite of his, he much prefers returning as swiftly as he can to designing. Lately, however, he's been in and out of the country furthering the business as a chief executive and not as a designer.

It's possible that we could be seeing Ridge take a step back to focus on birthing a new, show-stopping collection and asking Brooke to oversee the company with Steffy. If that ends up being the case then we could be seeing Steffy and her on-and-off again stepmother working far more closely than they would like. The question is though, with a more prominent, hands-on position at Forrester Creations, does that mean Brooke will save Hope's line?

Steffy has been adamant that her sudden decision to cancel the brand is simply business. The numbers don't look good, Hope has no true game plan to usher in a new era for HFTF outside of hoping RJ, Zende, and Luna can turn out something unexpected, and the line's proven track record has hinged on Thomas' designs for years, hence why it's in such a bad position now that he's left.

Hope believes her former rival is just being vindictive and, in attacking her, she's also striking at the Logans as a whole. But, interestingly the writing hasn't played it so that her family feels the same ire as her. Donna left to check on Eric during his workout after she heard Hope's fiery speech where she declared war on Steffy. Katie wanted her to temper her flames a bit because "war" is a pretty strong statement. And Brooke did support Hope's drive to fight for HFTF but nowhere in there did she say she was willing to spark a feud.

Knowing that her mom has been considering taking on more responsibility at Forrester, Hope is under the assumption that she doesn't need Ridge to back her as long as she has Brooke in her corner. She told her mother she'd have her support and Katie's if she wants greater influence at the company. The thing though is that Brooke went into that confrontation with Steffy, Ridge, and Carter as a mother. If she does accept Ridge's offer to help him and Steffy, she's going to put on her businesswoman hat.

Hope has always been very passionate when it comes to the causes she believes in and her line. But she's never been good at the business side of the industry she's in. That's not the case for Brooke. Her successes in the field are her own, the legacy she's built is based on the work she contributed to the company. She also knows that if something's not working, it needs to either be refreshed or dropped.

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think Brooke will betray her daughter and agree that her line should be canceled. But I do believe she's about to be out of lock-step with Hope. I say this because Hope is in the middle of spiral. It will stop completely if she simply gets her way and there's no drama surrounding HFTF. This storyline feels like it's a catalyst to push Hope toward a darker plot, one where she actively does something to emotionally harm Steffy out of revenge.

All the pieces are there. Hope feels like everything she loves is slipping through her fingers. Granted, this is because of her own choices but she doesn't see it that way so she's laid the blame at Steffy's feet. She's growing increasingly closer to Finn and the seeds have already been planted about her headaches which could mean that the writers are putting in a plot point to explain away Hope's behavior if she suddenly becomes erratic and vengeful.

We have the makings of quite the arc for Hope Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful. But first, the line of defense she's always turned to has feel like it's been taken from her and that's where a closer working relationship between Steffy and Brooke could come in. Particularly if the two often feuding women actually do well together when their focus is on the business.

I can't wait to see what happens next, this is shaping up to be a good storyline. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more news and coverage.
