After six amazing seasons full of the most hilarious reads of the entire Real Housewives franchise, Candiace Dillard Bassett has announced that she will be departing from The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP).

Candiace first made an appearance on the reality TV series back in 2019 as a young soon-to-be-married housewife who had the world at her fingertips. She quickly learned many things about adulthood, including (but certainly not limited to) how to financially provide for herself outside of her mother's help, how to kickstart a successful singing career in her thirties, and, most importantly, how to refrain from viciously clapping back on her fellow RHOP members on Twitter. (Okay, she's still working on that last one!)

Her immense growth led to Candiace coming to terms with the fact that her journey on the reality TV series has come to an end --- for now.

"As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey," Candiace told People. "With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP."

Candiace noted that this message better quantifies as a "see you later" than a definite goodbye, which provides some sense of comfort for her fans. However, her fans are still left puzzled that she decided to leave rather than some other castmates who should've definitely handed in their resignation before Candiace. But RHOP fans may be delighted to know we don't think Candiace Dillard Bassett is the last to throw in the towel.

Here's who should follow Candiace on the way out of RHOP

We all know that The Real Housewives of Potomac is in massive need of a cast shake-up, as the show has grown very stale with the constant bickering and the crew's refusal to put the past behind them.

Many fear a cancellation of the show, however, if the show removes this handful of people, we believe the show may be able to bounce back better than ever.

Gizelle Bryant

Truthfully, we can't remember the last time Gizelle Bryant contributed to the show's entertainment other than her moments where she's arguing with her fellow cast mates.

Gizelle is a housewife who seems to be a force to be reckoned with, but once you dig deeper and sift through all the pomp and circumstance, you find that there's nothing worth tuning in every week for. Sure, her relationship with her three daughters, Grace, Angel, and Adore, shows us her softer side, however, this isn't enough to erase what we now know to be true.

What also doesn't help Gizelle's case is that she has concocted a way to come after every single woman's spouse on the show. The most heinous case was Candiace's husband, Chris Bassett, who Gizelle claimed made her uncomfortable when they spoke one-on-one.

Robyn Dixon, Gizelle's best friend, even called out Gizelle for taking things too far, especially because Gizelle was trying to insinuate Chris was a predator. But by then, the damage was done, leaving not only Gizelle's relationship with Candiace broken but also Gizelle's relationship with fans of the show.

"Gizelle has sown so much bad blood between cast mates with her 'producing' that all of the genuine friendship between them has just disappeared," one Reddit fan expressed. Another had the same sentiments, stating, "I think [the] majority of the cast has become predictable. Gizelle and Ashley are gonna be terribly messy/shady. Robyn is guilty/hated by association with Gizelle."

With her daughters all grown up, her beef with Candiace null and void, and her reputation sullied, Gizelle has backed herself into a corner where the most entertaining thing she could do for fans is leave and let someone else take her spot.

Ashley Darby

Unlike Candiace, we've watched Ashley's journey since season 1.

Sometimes Ashley's journey includes some hair-raising moments, such as her argument with her ex-husband, Michael Darby, over their now-closed Australian restaurant. Sometimes Ashley's journey included some heartbreaking moments like when she came to terms with the fact that she was a single mother of two boys. However, most of Ashley's televised journey included her being far too involved in drama, leading to fans feeling a disconnect with her.

The number of times Ashley would go out of her way to create drama but would fail to show fans a deeper side of her was too frequent for anyone to not notice. What's more, fans found it very strange that she has yet to officially divorce Michael Darby after all this time, forcing many to wonder if she made it all up for a storyline.

"Viewers aren't stupid," one Redditor said regarding the Ashely and other women who may have created fake storylines. "If you're not going to show your REAL life or you want your family/marriage to be off limits, then you can be a FOH [friend of housewife] if you're stellar in group situations. But you shouldn't be a main cast with that."

Ashley is already on thin ice after failing to bring her A-game for the past couple of seasons. If she doesn't show some authenticity soon and refrain from being this cold, calculated housewife, she may find herself leaving not too far behind her childhood friend, Candiace.

Robyn Dixon

Simply put, the fans are fed up with Robyn Dixon and her delusional behavior when it comes to her husband, Juan Dixon.

Robyn and Juan have broken up and got back together too many times for anyone's liking, and it seems that getting back together was a waste of time for the two, as Juan has been accused of being unfaithful yet again. What makes matters worse, however, is that Robyn acts like she doesn't know the truth of what's going on in her marriage and would rather give fans two minutes of a pathetic attempt at trying to have a conversation with her husband than show up as her authentic self.

As unfortunate as it may sound, Robyn's relationship with Juan is one of the more interesting aspects of her since she refuses to do anything apart from her best friend, Gizelle Bryant. Even so, Robyn doesn't want to give us the real rundown of her marriage and chooses to save face, leaving fans to wonder if she will ever let go of everything and everyone that's holding her back from being a star.

"Robyn just spit in the face of Bravo and every reality tv star who puts [their] true self out there to be judged," a Redditor passionately wrote in a post titled "This is why Robyn Dixon should be fired!". "It's finding out she and Gizelle sit back and plot fake storylines to deflect from their own truths."

Again, any time a housewife sinks to making up a storyline marks the end of said housewife having anything worth filming in their personal lives. But in Robyn's case, it's not about the lack of interesting behind-the-scenes moments, it's about her being far too guarded with her emotions to live out her truth. Hopefully, she outgrows this soon before it's too late.

Wendy Osefo

Out of all the ladies on this list, this is the one that hurts the most --- Wendy Osefo.

Wendy is a highly decorated, accomplished individual who served as a reminder that Women of Color can be super intelligent and go-getters without needing to apologize for it. She's a breath of fresh air for mothers who want to preserve their careers without sacrificing the needs of their families or themselves. Best of all, Wendy is a great example of someone who knows how to articulate themselves well without going under the belt.

Wendy is pure class...that's why she may be the next out.

Many feel that Wendy is "too good" for the show in that she feels that she is above anything that transpires in the show. While we don't necessarily agree with the statement, we do see how Wendy continuously detaching herself from the women makes for bad reality TV. Also, with how much the women have iced Wendy out, often refusing to invite her to events, it's difficult to see a path where either side is willing to set the pride aside and move forward.

"I like Wendy but her storyline seems to be about how she avoids interacting with Gizelle and Robyn. It's exhausting and boring," one comment said on Reddit. Another similar comment read, "I think this show doesn’t do her any favors. I liked her when she started but I just don’t really like the way she comes off now and I think it makes her look bad."

The Real Housewives of Potomac seems to have outgrown Wendy and vice versa. This is a surefire sign that it's time for Wendy to reconsider whether she wants to continue to be around an environment that doesn't serve her, especially since that environment is now void of her partner-in-crime, Candiace.

Nevertheless, if Wendy leaves, best believe Nneka Ihim will be right behind her since Nneka didn't bring much to the show outside of her ridiculous beef with Wendy.

Nneka Ihim

To keep it short, Nneka Ihim dropped the ball for her rookie season and it may be too late for her to recover.

Outside of her numbingly annoying scenes with Wendy over whose mother was putting a hex on who, Nneka really brought nothing to the most recent season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Even worse, she's boxed herself in with Gizelle and Robyn. This is the same path that former cast mate Monique Samuels once took and that ended in Monique being on an island all by herself when Gizelle finally saw no more use for her. Perhaps Gizelle is trying to use Nneka in the same way.

Regardless of who is using who, Nneka, like all newcomers, should've made her debut season all about introducing the world to who she is. Now, we can't say for sure what Nneka's identity is outside of a follower who doesn't seem to have a backbone just yet.

On the other hand, Karen Huger and Mia Thornton definitely should return for the next season since they equally have a lot going on in their personal lives; Mia and her ongoing divorce and Karen with her recent car accident. If they decided to leave the show, we would be very surprised, as these were the only two women who gave us some entertainment in The Real Housewives of Potomac season 8.

All in all, we'll have to wait to see who else will drop from The Real Housewives of Potomac. After all, we have a feeling that Candiace Dillard Bassett won't be the only one. It's no longer a matter of just when, but who.
