Fans of The CW's pre-Nexstar era roster are always on the look out for where their favorite stars are landing now that all but All American has been sunset (or will be this year in Superman & Lois' case). So, of course, those of us who enjoyed Kennedy McMann's turn as Nancy Drew in the modern supernatural adaptation of the iconic sleuth's story were happy when news broke that she'd be starring in a film!

No, it's not the Nancy Drew movie that fans have been clamoring for and making noise about since the show started to close in on the end of its run. There's been no word on whether a film continuation for that universe could ever come to fruition, but we will always hold out hope that it will. In the meantime, we could be seeing McMann make a transition to becoming a film star.

Deadline reports that she'll be starring opposite Saturday Night Live alum Alex Moffat in the indie comedy Brewmance. The movie follows the unexpected love story between Amber and Samuel. She's a "headstrong brewery owner" and he's a "slick marketing strategist." The two don't see eye to eye on how to save Amber's business which is failing but sparks begin to fly when they come up with a plan to reinvent and reinvigorate the brewery.

It's a plot that wouldn't be out of place on Hallmark Channel but, given Moffat's casting, I expect the laughs to be on tap in the movie. Also, as my fellow Nancy Drew fans know, Kennedy McMann is a riot. There are so many moments throughout The CW show's four season run where her comedic timing was impeccable, particularly in season 2 episode 10, "The Spell of the Burning Bride," when she's dosed by a wedding dress and becomes incredibly lusty.

Starring alongside McMann and Moffat are Jamey Maurice Clay, Zoe Colletti, Joel de la Fuenta, Jessica N. Jimenez, Caroline Kingsley, Hannah Mosqueda, Steven Ogg, and Kirk Roos.

A release date has yet to be announced for Brewmance. McMann shared on her Instagram that she'd update fans on when the movie is coming out and where we'll be able to view the film. The latter part implies that the romcom will be a streaming film but that's not confirmed. She also gave her take on the project that's "super special" to her.

"you GUYS. you guys. this movie is so good. IT’S SO GOOD!!!! and the people who made it are good and that’s even better.

you will laugh a lot and maybe cry a little bit because of the warmth in your little heart. it’s so super special to me & I think it will be for you too maybe. I had sooooooo much fun.

stay tuned — I’ll update with when and where ya can watch it xo"

It'll be great to see Kennedy McMann back on our screens again, and I'm sure the Drew Crew will show up and show out for this movie. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more TV news and coverage.
