Dexter: Original Sin first look image reveals one of the first victims in the prequel

Dexter: Original Sin, the prequel series that follows the eponymous lead in his younger years, is a highly anticipated release on Paramount+ with Showtime. The '90s set crime drama takes place when Dexter has begun a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department. But, as he's learning how to put his knowledge of science and the human body to use to help solve cases, he'll also be going through a different sort of training.

Under the direction of his father, Harry, Dexter will be adopting a Code to live by regarding his compulsion to kill. His targets will be those who slipped through the cracks of the justice system and have been allowed to go on terrorizing or hurting people. He is set on righting this wrong by eliminating people he deems unfit to remain a part of society, but he'll have to do so without bring any attention to himself.

We finally have a first look at the series and Patrick Gibson in the role of Dexter Morgan. But the released images didn't stop at giving us a peek at him, Christian Slater as Harry Morgan, and Molly Brown as Dexter's sister, Deb. It appears that we've also been let in on one of his first victims in the series. Take a look!

The man strapped to the table is Tony Ferrer, played by Roberto Sanchez. What leads to him getting caught in Dexter's crosshairs is unknown but this image is from "Miami Vice," the third episode in the 10 episode season. Sanchez was announced as being a part of the recurring cast for the show, so whatever misdeeds he's done happen within the first three episodes.

Unless Dexter: Original Sin plans on rewriting history, Tony isn't Dexter's first victim. According to Screen Rant, the catalyst for Dexter's 30 year long killing spree began with the nurse who'd been taking care of his father. Her name was Mary, and she is what's referred to as "Angel of Death." The moniker is bestowed on killers in the medical field who desire to take their patients' pain away by also taking their lives. Mary had murdered five people before Dexter killed her in kind.

This inciting incident is what led to Harry giving his son license to kill as long as he focused his bloodthirsty tendencies on targets that deserved to die based on the Code they develop for him to follow. Dexter killed Nurse Mary in 1991, so we could see her death happen in the series. It's premiere is titled, "Original Sin." Here are the rest of the first look images:
