Don't miss a beat! Here's how (and when) to watch So You Think You Can Dance
By Sabrina Reed
So You Think You Can Dance is back! The premiere on Monday, March 4, reminded us all why we love this competition series. It's not just about the moves but also the heart. And, with the attention to furthering the contestants' careers this season, we're in for a new format that'll see them competing in challenges that include performing for a football halftime show and dancing on a Broadway stage.
The premiere, "Auditions: Day 1," introduced us to Olivia Alboher, a Tik Tok dancer whose skill surprised the judges who'd been disappointed by the social media famous performers they'd seen up until her show-stopping contemporary routine to "Solitude" by Ryuichi Sakamoto. However, Maksim, Comfort, and Allison were most moved by Jin Lee. Her tribute to her father brought Allison to tears as did her recognition of the famed dancer's resilience in the face of tragedy after losing her husband Stephen "tWitch" Boss to suicide.
Episode 2, "Auditions: Day 2," is a new opportunity for us to get to know the contestants vying for a spot in next rounds of the competition. Once the cast is round out, we'll be spending much of the season with them not just while they're on stage but also behind the scenes in the brand new documentary style element that's been added to So You Think You Can Dance. You aren't going to want to miss a single episode!
The series airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox, but if you need to know where you can stream the show live or on-demand, we've got you covered. Below you'll find three options for tuning in.
Where to stream So You Think You Can Dance season 18
Fox's website
If you haven't cut the cable, you'll be able to access Fox's programming via fox.com. You'll need a TV provider log-in to view episodes of So You Think You Can Dance after they air. Without one, the only way to view content is through a preview pass which lets you view around 58 minutes of a given episode, however, once that's run out, you'll need to log-in to watch more. The site also prompts you to provide an email to make an account, so if you don't want do that, this isn't the option for you.
Hulu
The kind of Hulu subscription that you have will determine when you can watch a new episode of the dance competition. If you have Hulu + Live, you can stream the show as it airs depending on the region you're in. The lowest plan is $76.99/month for Hulu + Live TV, Disney+, and ESPN+ but it comes with ads. To remove ads on Hulu and Disney+, it'll cost $89.99/month for that plan.
If you don't have Hulu + Live TV, or aren't interested, a regular Hulu subscription works, too. The ad-tier is $7.99/month and it'll give you access to the streamers entire platform including the ability to stream Network TV shows on Fox and ABC. You'll be able to watch new episodes of So You Think You Can Dance on Tuesdays.
Fubo TV
Another live TV option is Fubo TV, it's a streaming TV provider. The lowest plan is $79.99/month for access to 185 channels, including Fox (depending on the region), and 1,000 hours of space on their Cloud DVR. The provider is also a good source for watching Network TV shows from ABC, CBS, NBC, and The CW, but you'll want to check to see if those channels are carried in your region.
As we steadily move through the rounds on So You Think You Can Dance, it'll become even more imperative to watch live to see who out of our favorite dancers are moving forward in the competition and who, unfortunately, has been sent home.
We'll keep you posted on whether or not the at home audience will be able to vote once the season narrows down to the Top 10. Last season, only the studio audience could vote which didn't sit well with longtime fans. Hopefully, we'll be returned to being able to vote for the dancers we've come to love while watching their journey.
