The Neighborhood is about to sign off the airwaves for another season, but have no fear next week’s season finale is not going to be the last episode of CBS’s hit comedy!

While CBS has canceled a number of hit series this spring including its top comedy Young Sheldon as well as Monday night staple Bob Hearts Abishola, the network has handed out a renewal to The Neighborhood which will be coming back for a seventh season in the fall. That’s right, The Neighborhood will be returning for another season in the fall and is among the many lucky CBS series that will be coming back for the 2024-25 season.

It’s going to be interesting to see whether the show remains on Monday nights or if CBS might look to move the series to a new night. We should learn soon enough whether CBS will be moving the show to a new night as CBS will likely be unveiling its fall schedule in early May as it presents to advertisers at the 2024 Upfronts.

The Neighborhood season 6 finale preview

So now that we’ve established that next week’s finale won’t be The Neighborhood’s last episode and that another season is happening, what exactly can fans expect from the new episode? Well, let’s just say that the episode is going to bring about a major moment for Courtney!

As the whole crew heads out to see Toni Braxton live in concert, Courtney’s water breaks. That’s right! Courtney’s baby is about to arrive.

The moment is going to be an instance of art imitating life in the most hilarious of ways. Skye Townsend’s character is loosely based on Sarah Francis Jones, the real-life girlfriend of The Neighborhood star Marcel Spears, and as it just so happens Jones went into labor in a very similar fashion. According to Deadline, Jones went into labor when attending the Beyoncé Renaissance tour concert and it seems the show has decided to draw upon that moment for the finale – swapping Toni Braxton in for Beyonce!

The episode is sure to bring us plenty of hilarious moments and we cannot wait to see what surprises the season 6 finale might have in store for us. The one thing we know for certain is that the finale is sure to bring plenty of laughs and we can at least be assured that the show will be coming back for another season!

Don't miss the season 6 finale of The Neighborhood on Monday, May 6 at 8/7c on CBS!
