When an actor stars in a popular franchise (be it a movie series or a longtime-running sitcom), that's the role they will be most recognized for. Worst case, the star won't be able to shake off that particular role, which can make getting involved in other projects very difficult. Fortunately, this is not the case with John Krasinski, who fans first met as Jim Halpert in the NBC sitcom The Office.

The actor has not only gone on to portray other roles brilliantly, but he has sat behind the camera, too. One of Krasinski's most known projects is A Quiet Place, a drama horror written and directed by Krasinski himself. His next project? The upcoming movie IF, which Krasinski wrote, produced, and directed. Another reason to get excited about the movie, particularly if you are a fan of The Office? IF will see Krasinski and his The Office co-star Steve Carell together again on screen.

In addition to Carell, IF, which stands for "Imaginary Friends," also sees Krasinski team up with Ryan Reynolds. The story follows Bea, a young girl with a big imagination and even bigger heart. Bea has the ability to see imaginary friends, but not just her own, Bea can see other people's imaginary friends, as well. One day, Bea discovers that she is not the only one with this ability. As it turns out, Bea's neighbor, known only as The Man Upstairs (Ryan Reynolds) can also do this.

IF also stars the voices of Cailey Fleming, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Sam Rockwell, John Krasinski, and others.

This is a family adventure movie you don't want to miss. At the center of the story is a forgotten, furry imaginary friend named Blue, voiced by Steve Carell. Check out the trailer here.

IF premieres in theaters on May 24. At the time of this writing, the movie only has a big-screen release, which means you'll need to visit your local theater to enjoy it. Of course, as soon as we learn when the movie will be available on streaming, we'll update this post! One thing we do know is that, once IF leaves theaters, it'll stream on Paramount+, since the movie is a Paramount Pictures production.

John Krasinski also stars in 13 Hours and the Prime Video series Jack Ryan. A Quiet Place: Day One, in which Krasinski serves as producer, will arrive to theaters this summer on June 28.
