Evil's fourth and final season opened with the episode, "How to Split an Atom." The premiere follows Kristen, David, and Ben during a case where they're investigating the strange happenings at Garrow Research Facility where a particle accelerator has caused quite the commotion in the parish and with its workers. The episode sets the story up for the season long arc around the coming Antichrist. But, besides the narrative at the center of the debut, there is also a dedication, lovingly placed at the close of the episode in memory of Tim Guinness.

Guinness was the Director of Photography on three episodes for Evil's first season--"3 Stars" (1x03), "October 31" (1x05), and "Vatican III" (1x07)--but his legacy crafting impactful television runs far deeper than the CBS series turned Paramount+ original. Prior to his passing on Feb. 22, 2023, Guinness had worked closely with Robert and Michelle King for over a decade as he was the Director of Photography on both The Good Wife (52 episodes including the series finale "End") and The Good Fight (24 episodes).

Robert King paid tribute to Guinness on X after he passed by sharing the following post:

According to his IMDb, the last series Guinness worked on was The Good Fight. His last episode was season 5, episode 4, "And the Clerk Had a Firm..." However, due to his long standing career, the DP's work can be seen throughout not one but multiple iconic and well beloved series.

King noted that Guinness dedicated himself to his craft, making sure that he presented the shows in their best light as well as the actors. But he did more than that as well. From King's words, it's apparent Guinness fostered bonds with those he worked with, helping to create a warm community that will dearly miss him and who will feel his absence.

Aside from his work family, Guinness is survived by his daughter Natalie Rose, his mother Marilyn, and his siblings Richard "Lisa" Guinness, Margaret "Mark" Campson, Jean "Glen" Henry, and Marilyn "Chris" McEntee.

For over 40 years, Guinness was a part of the motion picture television industry Local 52 and Local 600 community. He passed at 61. More than half his life was spent adding his touch, creativity, and eye to productions that span from film to television. There's no doubt that he left an indelible mark on-screen for those of us who've tuned into the projects he worked on and off for those who loved and knew him.

Hidden Remote extends our deepest condolences to Tim Guinness' loved ones. May he rest in peace.
