A new episode of MasterChef Junior season 9 premieres tonight, April 29, on FOX at 8 p.m. ET and it's going to be a fun one. For kids and adults alike "Thyme Travel" will delight because the series is traveling back in time to give the young chefs an opportunity to demonstrate how far they've come over the course of the competition.

Yes, you guessed it! The contestants will be recreating the first dishes they made in season 9. They'll be flexing the skills they've perfected since that first round in the MasterChef Kitchen and to redeem themselves if they're first showing in the competition wasn't the best. But, as this is a kids' competition, we'll also be getting an extra bit of fun! There's an honest to goodness time machine on set and it's fully functional. Don't believe me? Check out the exclusive clip below!

In a Nickelodeon-esque turn of events that will be incredibly nostalgic for the millennial parents watching, and quite funny for the little ones tuning in, Gordon Ramsay steps into the machine only to pop out a child just like the junior chefs he's been mentoring and encouraging all throughout MasterChef Junior. It's a "shocking" moment for judges Aarón Sanchez, Daphne Oz, and Tilly Ramsay as a pint-sized Gordon tells it like it is and is charmingly loud.

Of course, they couldn't leave Gordon that way so he does "transform" back but it was an excellent way to get the kids laughing and bring some lightness into the episode before "Thyme Travel" gets super intense and the chefs have to focus in order to secure their spot in the competition. The semi-finals are coming up next so now, more than ever, the heat is on!

MasterChef Junior airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX. The season 9 finale will air May 20. Which culinary whiz will come out on top? Tune in to find out!
