"Blanket," Fargo season 5 episode 8, features some very intense moments, including a very cool (and oh so somber) version of Britney Spears' popular hit "Toxic."

Spoiler alert! Though we don't dive into many details (that's what our recap is for) in this post, we do the major death that happens in Fargo season 5 episode 8. If you missed the episode, go stream it on Hulu before reading ahead.

After Roy's (Jon Hamm) failed debate, he storms to the shed where he is holding Dot (Juno Temple) captive -- and the walk from his car to the shed is a long one! But we are saying this in the best way. Roy's fuming walk is a very emotional scene. All we see is Roy's face and chest, but it's all we need to see to feel his anger and even feel fear. Not only fear for what's coming (poor Dot!), but fear or Roy's wrath. Hamm does an incredible job in this scene, that's for sure, but the song that plays as he storms to see Dorothy certainly helps!

Britney Spears fans recognize the song in seconds, it's "Toxic" that begins to play as Roy walks towards the camera. It's not the same beat, not at all. The "Toxic" that is playing is a more dark and serious cover. And we love it! Want to add it to your playlist? We have all the song details!

Who sings the cover version of Britney Spears "Toxic" in Fargo season 5 episode 8?

Listen to the song in the clip above! It is also available on iTunes and other music streaming services! The cover is also titled "Toxic," and it is composed by Jeff Russo, featuring Lisa Hannigan. Russo's "Toxic" was created in collaboration with the FX series, in which Russo serves as the composer.

As fun as it was to watch Roy get laughed at and storm out of the debate hall, it only powers him up as he looks prepared to risk it all. Dorothy is only momentarily saved from Roy's wrath by the Lyon's attorney, Danish, but blinded by rage, Roy murders him almost instantly. You won't want to miss next week's episode coming Tuesday, Jan. 9.
