Fargo season 5 episode 9 spoilers, synopsis, preview, and more to know
By Sandy C.
It's no secret that the penultimate episode of any series is a big one. It's the episode that sets up the final cards and the most intense moments happen. This is no exception for Fargo. On the contrary, the FX series is known for its action-packed and emotional moments.
From the episode synopsis to tune-in details, we list everything you need to know so you don't miss Fargo season 5 episode 9. Spoiler alert! Not caught up on the FX series? Please note there are significant spoilers ahead as we discuss events from previous episodes this season. Go stream any you may have missed on Hulu before reading on.
Fargo season 5 episode 9 title and synopsis
The penultimate episode is titled "The Useless Hand," which can mean a lot of things, but if you turn to the synopsis for more hints, you're out of luck! To be fair, FX has never been one to offer more than a line in their episode descriptions. But this "synopsis" is the shortest one we have seen in a while.
According to FX, "the tide turns" are the only three words under the episode description for "The Useless Hand." Can you say, the useless synopsis? Jokes aside, we really weren't expecting too much from FX. And on the bright side, the episode preview does tease plenty of action ahead.
Don't miss Fargo season 5 episode 9 on Tuesday, Jan. 9
The penultimate episode is set for Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 10 p.m. ET. "The Useless Hand" is set to run for about one hour and four minutes. As for the season 5 finale, that'll arrive the following Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the same time.
Biggest Fargo season 5 events so far
Here are the biggest events we've seen so far this season, from a death to a chilling revelation. (Spoilers) Read our season 5 episode 8 recap HERE.
- Nadine aka Dorothy has been captured by Roy
- Deputies Indira and Witt, as well as Lorraine, know where Dot is located
- Roy kills Danish after the latter tries to make a deal for the exchange of Dot
- Dot's reunion with Linda was only a dream as Linda is revealed to be dead and buried in the same place Danish's body now is
I have a feeling Danish is not the only death this season, but Wayne and Dot must be protected at all costs! I have even grown fond of Lorraine. She's complicated, I know, but you can always count on her to protect her family, and this includes Dot. Deputies Witt and Indira also deserve so much better, keeping my fingers crossed for both!
"The Useless Hand" teaser preview
In the teaser above, we see Indira tell Witt that "it's time" so it looks like saving Dot is going to be a team effort -- and we're here for it! Oh, but they are not alone! In another clip, we see an entire SWAT team moving in. It also looks as if Dot makes it inside Roy's home and fights with Karen (Roy's wife) if I'm seeing correctly.
