FBI: Most Wanted showrunner teases Scolina crossovers for the new FBI seasons
By Sabrina Reed
Scolina shippers, we have good news! We can expect there to be at least one FBI and FBI: Most Wanted crossover that focuses on Special Agents Nina Chase and Stuart Scola this television season. The couple make quite the pair and have garnered a devoted fan base. It's no wonder the franchise is continuing to invest in their relationship and journey as co-parents.
Last season on Most Wanted they tackled Nina's concern that she wasn't doing enough as a mother. That's why she was so concerned with making sure Dougie had everything he needs. It, however, was driving Scola up a wall because they'd collected so many baby items that they were losing space of their own, particularly for his belongings.
Their disagreement turned into a bit of an argument as Scola addressed the issue but they later came to an understanding with Nina admitting that she was overcompensating. Growing up without a mother has left her feeling insecure as she figures out what motherhood and parenting looks like for her and what she needs to do for Dougie to ensure he feels loved, safe, and happy.
The pair teamed up on FBI when they were tasked with going undercover as a married couple. It was the first time Scolina got to work a case together since Nina made the jump to the Fugitive Task Force so it was a welcome sight for fans.
What does the franchise have in store for us in the 2024-2025 television season? Well, there hasn't been much shared yet but Most Wanted showrunner David Hudgins did tell TVLine the following: "This season, we will learn more about Nina’s upbringing, and Scolina faces some drama when family comes to town"
It's unclear on whether both of those plots will happen in the same episode or if they'll be in separate episodes but this tease does show that the story will be all about the couple. Nina's upbringing has been a source of anxiety for her as a parent, so I'm curious to find out what else pops up as Dougie continues to grow.
As for the family drama when relatives come to town, bring it on! That's usually a good time whether it's played for laughs or there are reveals no one saw coming. Either way it gives the characters the opportunity to navigate a rocky or unpredictable situation together. It can also make or break a couple, but these two seem solid so it'll likely only continue to strengthen their bond.
