There are times when production on a show is lucky enough to be able to film in the same city or state that the story is set in. It gives it a more authentic feel, and there's something special about being able to do so. However, many times crews have to set up shop somewhere else due to a variety of reasons. But that definitely doesn't take away from the story! And Fire Country is one of those examples.

The action drama series on CBS takes place in Northern California - the fictional city of Edgewood to be exact. However, the production and cast don't even film in the United States. Fire Country is actually mostly filmed in Vancouver, Canada. The city is a very popular one for projects to set up their productions. It's one of the most used filming locations for shows and movies.

Fire Country filming locations

According to We Got This Covered, there's a few known spots in the British Columbia area that serve as California onscreen. The Vancouver metropolitan area serves as city of Edgewood, like the village of Anmore, per the outlet. Other spots include the Fort Langley Community Park, Community Hall, and the Fort Langley National Historic Site in Fort Langley, Canada.

We Got This Covered also shares that a town called Squamish has been used for its natural scenery. So did the series film in California at all? The answer is, yes. But that was reserved for the establishing shots. Fire Country filmed in a California city called Rio Dell to do so.

The first season of the show began filming in Vancouver in July 2022 and wrapped in April 2023. The first season made its debut in October 2022. It's not uncommon for a series to start airing while the rest of the season isn't finished yet. Especially with season 1 being 22 episodes long. Production had time!

Fire Country season 2 began filming in late November/early December following production delays due to the writers strike and actors strike. But now, we're back on track! Though because of the delays, expect this season to be a shorter one at around 11-13 episodes instead of 22.

What's to come in season 2

The good news is that the main cast members from the first season will be making a return! Leading man Max Thieriot as Bode comes back in Fire Country season 2. He'll be joined by Billy Burke as Vince; Kevin Alejandro as Manny; Diane Farr as Sharon; Stephanie Arcila as Gabriela; Jordan Galloway as Jake; and Jules Latimer as Eve.

By the end of season 1, it looked like there may have finally been light at the end of the tunnel for Bode going into this parole hearing. But, things aren't going to be easy for the young convict. An investigator shows up and tells Bode he's suspected of dealing drugs at Three Rock. He's told if he doesn't confess, then his friend Freddy would be wrongfully convicted. And so, Bode lies and says that he's selling drugs at Three Rock. Poor Guy!
