Game. Set. Match! Love is going to be in the air on this week’s So Help Me Todd and we’re not just referring to the game of tennis. This week’s new episode finds Margaret teaming up with Susan to help defend a tennis coach who is accused of drugging a teen athlete he helped coach and it seems like she just might end up enlisting the help of a certain charming lawyer companion somewhere along the way!

As teased in first-look photos from tonight’s new episode, episode 8 finally welcomes back Jeffrey Nordlin as Gus and it seems he’s about to somehow become entangled in Margaret’s case! In the photos from the episode, Gus and Margaret take to the tennis court where Gus turns up the charm, planting a kiss upon Margaret’s hand affectionately.

A second photo seems to hint that Gus might have surprised Margaret or perhaps the pair get into some type of disagreement, as they seem to be entangled in a heated battle of the sexes – I make no apologies for my tennis puns – within the coat room.

Gus and Margaret get flirty in So Help Me Todd season 2 episode 8 sneak peek

While we’re going to have to wait to see how exactly Margaret and Gus end up together on the tennis court, CBS has treated fans to a pair of sneak peeks from tonight’s new episode including one that gives a a glimpse into a flirty office encounter between the adorable duo!

In the first of CBS’s sneak peek clips, Gus shows up at Margaret’s office to pick her up for dinner. The only problem is that her current case has her more than a little distracted. Gus attempts to convince Margaret to take a break for dinner but, Margaret being the workaholic that she is, says she’s simply too busy. We get to see her try to bargain with Gus to allow her to bring work with her to dinner, but he’s not sold on the idea as he kisses her goodbye and heads out to make their reservation.

Susan finds out why Margaret wouldn’t promote her

The second preview clip for this week’s episode reveals a shocking revelation: Susan knows the firm is failing and that’s why Margaret couldn’t promote her. The only thing is that she doesn’t seem very understanding of the spot Margaret is, instead telling Todd that she’s now “stuck at this failing firm” because Margaret kept the firm’s hardships a secret.

As she explains to Todd, if you don’t get promoted to senior associate within a certain time period people assume that something is wrong with you or that you’re not good enough. So by sticking with the firm, she’s now reached her sell-by date and is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Honestly, we fully understand her frustration as she’s given everything to the firm and now that its future is in jeopardy, so is hers.

Todd being Todd, though, he somehow spins the conversation around to him and takes a few jabs at Lyle which perhaps is what ignites the epic office prank war the synopsis teases the pait get into!

Don’t miss a new So Help Me Todd tonight at 9/8c on CBS and streaming on Paramount+!
