Imaginary is the latest horror movie to hit the big screen. But, these days, not everyone wants to make the trip to the movies. For starters, it costs a pretty penny! And what if you don't enjoy the movie after dropping money for tickets, popcorn, and a drink? For most, it's better to just stay home and stream a movie from the comfort of your couch!
Another reason you may prefer watching Imaginary on streaming and not on the big screen is fear that the movie is not going to be any good. Why? The movie has a PG-13 rating, which is not a very popular rating among horror fans. In the horror community, an R-rating is more of our go-to. Don't get me wrong, there are some fantastic PG-13 horror movies, but we always go in with low expectations.
Are imaginary friends only part of childhood imagination or is there something more to it? This is the question Imaginary challenges viewers with. The movie stars DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne, Taegen Burns, Piper Braun, and others. It has a runtime of one hour and 44 minutes.
Imaginary is rated PG-13 for drug material, some violent content, and language. You see what I mean? Where is the gore? The frightening images? Still, we'll be giving Imaginary a chance! On the big screen, though? Probably not.
Imaginary may not go to streaming until summer 2024
The movie is in theaters on Friday, March 8, but it won't be available to stream for some time. Imaginary is a Blumhouse Productions and distributed by Lionsgate, which has a deal with Peacock. That said, when the movie leaves theaters, it will more than likely become available to stream on Peacock. Of course, as soon as this is official, we'll update this post!
As for when this will happen, we're not sure! However, movies from Lionsgate typically go to streaming four to six months after the premiere date. In this case, Imaginary may not stream until August 2024. Will you be watching the movie in theaters or waiting for the streaming release?
