Hope gets hot and heavy with Finn this week on Bold and the Beautiful
By Sabrina Reed
The Bold and the Beautiful is certainly living up to its name the week of June 10! The preview shows Hope Logan getting handsy with Steffy's husband, Dr. John Finnegan, who has been "treating" her persistent migraines. Things started off innocently enough on Friday, June 7's episode. He'd given her a massage before to help her piercing headache so did so again upon request in Forrester Creation's CEO office as if it's not inappropriate at all to be working out the kinks for the woman your wife was just arguing with at work.
Then things took a steamy turn when Finn's showering of compliments turned into him and Hope sharing a lip-lock that would have been shocking had we all not seen it coming. Though the soap has yet to reveal that the last bit of their interaction is a fantasy, there's a very strong possibility it is. We've been down this road before with Hope except last time, it was with Thomas Forrester, the man she loves who left her after she couldn't at least tell him if they have a future together.
Given the fact that Hope has something medically wrong with her at the moment, whatever happens in this storyline is certain to get handwaved away by some of the characters. But, for the time being, her apparent crush on Finn looks like it's about to get out of hand. I should note that while I do think this is partially Hope transferring the feelings she's had to put away for Thomas onto the good doctor, she's had a long-standing lowkey infatuation with Finn since they met so her projecting onto him isn't coming out of left field.
It is, however, going to cause problems. Not just for but everyone around them as well. Steffy thinks Hope is trying to interfere in her marriage to get back at her. Liam didn't agree that she'd been attempting to steer Finn toward a relationship with Sheila, his infamous birth mother, as a revenge tactic. But Steffy is convinced she is and will have no problem bringing up Hope's behavior to Brooke this week on the soap. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long before Steffy says something to Hope herself.
In the meantime, we're going to be dealing with these fantasies. Personally, I'd like for the writers not to linger in whatever spicy imaginings Hope has. We've done this before. It's going to feel like a repeat of Thope without the build the couple had for years and with plenty of knowledge that unless Finn is written wildly out of character, nothing is going to come of this in any serious way.
Sure, it could be the stepping stone for Thomas to come home if he were to find out something is seriously wrong with Hope. Or it could put Steam on a romantic collision course once again if there's some kind of misunderstanding. But, unless this storyline has some twists somewhere, we could be stuck with a plot that's around for awhile but deeply unsatisfying.
