Hope Logan will have her eye on a new man on Bold and the Beautiful this fall

Hope Logan has been a mess on The Bold and the Beautiful since Thomas Forrester broke up with her and it seems she's not yet done going through the throes of recklessness. She already blew up her spot when she made the ill-advised decision to kiss Dr. John Finnegan at Eric Forrester's party celebrating the relaunch of her mother Brooke Logan's bedroom line.

Finn is happily married to Hope's rival, Steffy Forrester, but that hasn't stopped Hope from fantasizing about being with him. Her feelings got away from her at the party and she still hasn't learned her lesson. Her friendship with Finn is down the tubes and Steffy has warned her off her man and yet Hope can't stop waxing poetically about Finn's virtues.

She's unsuccessfully been trying to convince Brooke that she's got a handle on her feelings and that she isn't going to continue to pursue Finn. You would think that Finn not being interested would deter Hope but, based on CBS' latest press release for The Bold and the Beautiful, she's going to try at least one more time.

The release reveals that Brooke and Taylor are set to clash over Hope because Brooke's daughter hasn't left Finn alone like she said she would. As expected, the issue is going to escalate into Steffy threatening to shut the Hope for the Future line down as she has been for some time now. Though, to be fair, HFTF has been in trouble for awhile. Hope was given one more quarter to improve the financial side of her brand and she hasn't.

Steffy's a businesswoman and, as Co-CEO, she wants to get rid of a drain on the company's resources. If it has the added benefit of sticking it to Hope then so be it in her mind. But this latest dust-up between the two rivals is going to be a catalyst for an unexpected story development. According to the press release, Hope will turn her focus to a new man after Steffy threatens her.

Who could that man be? Well, I can only speculate at this point but Carter Walton seems like a good candidate. The two have had more scenes than usual lately and there's been somewhat of a vibe. He's also the CFO of Forrester Creations and, as an executive member of the team, his opinion carries a lot of weight. Steffy is prone to dismissing Brooke because of the animosity she holds toward her, but she respects Carter. So does Ridge and that's his best friend, too. He curries a lot of favor with them.

In this era of Hope's characterization, it's not a stretch to think that she might try to develop a romance with Carter to keep her line even if he is her aunt Katie Logan's ex. Not to mention Carter is Paris' ex-fiancé. He left her at the altar for Quinn so she's surely not hung up on him but Paris is engaged to Thomas and an ex-swap is just the kind of messy this soap loves.
