We've been buzzing (pun fully intended!) about 911 season 8 since the first teaser dropped. ABC went full tilt bee, letting the insects be the shining stars of their promotional push without giving us even half a second of footage from the actual season. Thankfully, they've stopped holding back on us. A teaser has been released giving us some information on how exactly a bee-nado has been unleashed!

In a scene that looks like it could come straight out of a Final Destination movie, the bees escape their boxes after the truck carrying them is involved in a collision on a bridge. They, like the rest of the city, were minding their business but we all know what happens when a hive gets disturbed--these tiny insects transform into a big and dangerous problem.

The truck was hauling...brace for it...22 million killer bees. 22 MILLION. As the trailer notes, that's enough to kill 44,000 people and that's not counting the amount of damage that's set to happen as people panic and cause catastrophes of their own as they try to escape the onslaught of this bee-nado. With this many bees on the loose, it's no wonder we're in for a three episode event.

Of course, Hen, Chimney, Eddie, and Buck are on call but it looks like Eddie's the one who'll be making a mad dash (questionable moustache in tow) across someone's property with only his turnout gear and a beekeeping veil to protect him. This whole situation is the kind of ridiculous we love to see and, based on what showrunner Tim Minear has teased about Bobby's storyline, it'll be joined by some meta storytelling as well.

TVLine reports Bobby has become a technical advisor on what Minear referred to as a "ridiculous firefighter show that's nothing like reality." I think we're all looking into the camera like Jim Halpert on that one. We love when a show can make fun of itself. In a blink and you'll miss it moment, it does look like the trailer gives us a glimpse of Bobby on the set of the firefighter show. I do hope it has a suitably over-the-top name!

911 season 8 premieres Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. ET, kicking off a block on ABC that includes the cruise-bound medical drama Doctor Odyssey and another soapy season of Grey's Anatomy. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more coverage and follow us on X!
