It looks like we'll be bidding farewell to Magnum P.I. in January 2024 (series finale update)
With the third to last episode having aired on Wednesday, Dec. 13 before the show returns in January, one thing fans got to look forward to was seeing actress Perdita Weeks, who plays Juliet Higgins, directing the episode, which was called “Extracurricular Activites.”
In an interview, Weeks talked about what it was like to direct the episode, which was written by her favorite writer, Katie Varney, and also included an action sequence involving a motorcycle. All in all, it looks like the actress had plenty of fun behind the scenes before the end of the series.
She also described the series ending onscreen couple Magnum (Jay Hernandez) and her character, Higgins, as “very sweet. She also mentioned she was hopeful that fans would find the ending suitable for their characters.
When will the Magnum P.I. series come to an end on NBC?
Magnum P.I. had originally aired on CBS before the show received a new chance at life on NBC. However, NBC declined to give the series another shot so this means the show will end after five seasons. Since there are only a couple of more episodes to go and the show returns in January, 2024, this likely means that the series will end that same month.
So far, it has not been officially confirmed that the release date for the series finale will fall in January. But it is possible fans will have to say goodbye to the show once we get back from the winter break based on when the show returns and how many episodes are left.
A promo that aired after the Dec. 13 episode revealed the show would return on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024 at 9/8c. With just two episodes left, we’re possibly less than a month away from the final episode of the series, which could air on January 10, 2024.
