More light is being shed on Jared Padalecki's character on Fire Country season 3. When news broke that the Walker star would be making a guest appearance on the CBS firefighter drama, the star's fans were ecstatic. With the cancellation of his CW western, there'd been no indication Padalecki would be back on broadcast any time soon like network TV lovers have been accustom to for years. Well, now it's certain he will be and there's a possibility he could become a part of the firefighter franchise in a big way.

As Hidden Remote reported previously, the actor could lead his own series in this universe though the idea for that is still in its infancy and not a guarantee. In the meantime Fire Country viewers will be getting a taste of Padalecki's talent as he grabs Camden Casey's surfboard and turnout gear for a role showrunner Tia Napolitano told TVInsider the team is excited about.

The SoCal firefighter is described as being a "maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with [who] immediately recognizes Bode's raw talent." But it's more than that. According to Napolitano, "The part was written for Jared, very specifically. Jared and Max [Thieriot] are buddies, so that helped.”

We're about to see that friendship play out on screen as their characters instantly connect. Like Camden, Bode is one to take the bull by the horns. He also has a tendency to throw himself into danger, sometimes without slowing down to think or weigh the consequences. That's something that his friends and family have tried to temper but Camden will have no interest in doing that, he's of the mind that Bode should be as he is even if that makes him a bit of a wildfire.

Napolitano elaborated on that point in the interview:

"Everyone in Bode’s life before Camden hits the scene is sort of trying to tame a tiger when it comes to Bode to make sure he works the program so he can get out. Camden is more Bode than anyone else on our show. I think they’re twin flames and similar and Camden’s able to encourage, draw out maybe the dangerous side of Bode, but he sees the talent and leans into it. He doesn’t try to put lightning back into the bottle."

Could this backfire? Absolutely. But Bode's in a completely different head space in Fire Country season 3. For the first time since the show began, he doesn't have anyone to answer to. He's a free man who can make his own decisions and what he's determined to do is become a firefighter. His plans were derailed when he was released and he found out the Cal Fire union was pushing back on allowing the formerly incarcerated to join their ranks, but he doesn't plan on letting that stop him.

Season 2 ended with Bode asking his uncle Luke to help him claim his family legacy. Camden looks like he's going to be a part of that journey for better or for worse. What happens when you pair two live wires together? Likely chaos. Should be fun!

Fire Country season 3 premieres Friday, Oct. 18 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. We'll keep you posted on when Jared Padalecki will first appear as Camden Casey. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote and follow us on X!
