There have been a lot of deserving winners in the history of Dancing with the Stars, but there have also been a few questionable winners over the years whose victories left fans wondering what went wrong. Chief among them is season 27 winner Bobby Bones, who beat out Disney star Milo Manheim and Harry Potter actress Evanna Lynch to become the winner of the season despite being the lowest-scoring dancer in the finale.

His victory is one that still puzzles fans and it seems we’re not alone in feeling that Bones was the worst winner the show has seen over the years.

During the August 18 episode of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked 2-time Dancing with the Stars winning professional dancer turned host Julianne Hough if there has ever been a winner she strongly disagreed with. She at first took a moment of pause, but when fellow guest Mickey Guyton whispered her own answer to Hough, Hough agreed that it was indeed Bobby Bones who she felt was ht least deserving of the Mirrorball Trophy.

"I actually agree with you,” Hough said, agreeing with Guyton’s suggestion that Bones was the worst winner of the show. “And I think it's because the fanbase, right? It's all about fanbase on that show. He was not the best dancer."

While Hough might have played it cool at first, it was honestly refreshing to see her speak up and agree with Guyton in calling Bones out for being the least deserving winner in the show’s history as it’s a well-known fact among the Dancing with the Stars fandom as well. We love an underdog story, but Bones was not the most talented performer that season and there were many others that season who were deserving of being crowned the winner including his two fellow finalists Milo Manheim and Evanna Lynch, who both had shown incredible growth over the course of the season and consistently outscored Bones on the leaderboard.

Bobby Bones lashes out after being called worst DWTS winner

Fans might agree with both Julianne Hough and Mickey Guyton’s assessment that Bobby Bones was the least deserving winner of Dancing with the Stars, but it seems Bobby Bones was not a fan of that assessment – especially with Guyton’s thoughts it seems.

“Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live had Julianne Hough on, I’ve met [her] a couple of times, and she’s awesome. Julianne Hough… no slander from me. But they asked [her] who’s the worst ever, and she was being a bit diplomatic, and Mickey Guyton, of all people, was like ‘Bobby Bones.' And so Julianne was like ‘Yeah.’,” Bones told his followers in a video shared on Instagram

“I was the worst dancer; I take pride in that! Now, I tried as hard as anybody in the history of the show, but I can’t dance now, couldn’t dance then. But you know who took down the big evil empire of dance? Well, it’s not evil or an empire, but me and you (points to camera)! We did it together,” he continued.

Bones went on to say that he was “the greatest champion ever because I’m the man of the people. I’m the man that you guys selected. But Mickey Guyton, what the —” trialing off before dropping an f-bomb in reference to Guyton, whose Bones clearly took most personally despite the fact that Hough agreed and was the one to elaborate on him not being the best dancer that season.

Guyton’s opinion clearly struck a nerve with Bones which we understand, but it’s the way he lashes out so pointedly at her yet brushes off Hough’s comments that definitely has made this whole situation even more awkward.
