Cancellation season is done and over with--for everyone but The CW--and the dust has settled. We know which series will be back and which won't, this includes whether some programs have been held for the midseason in 2025 or have been moved to streaming. NBC's axe didn't get as much of a work out but there are shows that aired during the 2023-2024 season that won't be be back in the fall and only two of them escaped the blade.

Wondering what you won't be able to count on returning? Here's the list of shows that don't have Fall premiere dates on NBC. If you're behind on the news, one of them is going to take you by surprise though you'll be glad to know that it hasn't be canceled!

Law and Order: Organized Crime

Don't worry, our adventures with Stabler aren't over. Law and Order: Organized Crime is making the hop to Peacock for its fifth season. The move made sense to the network since much of the show's audience actually streams the series the next day after a new episode airs. Its ratings are strong and, though it will be away from the flagship and SVU, it's in a good place to stand on its own. This, however, could impact whether or not fans can expect to see crossovers with Organized Crime and the rest of the franchise. Found will replace the procedural in the 10 p.m. ET slot on NBC's schedule.

Deal or No Deal Island

If you enjoyed the island spin on the classic Deal or No Deal game, you'll have to hold on for another season. The network did green light a season 2, but it's being held until 2025. Considering the series premiered in February of this year, we can likely expect its next installment to land in the coming February as well unless NBC plans to slot the unscripted program into the schedule in January.

Extended Family - Season 1

Extended Family

Unfortunately, the Jon Cryer-led comedy was canceled. Though the series wasn't the worst performing comedy on the network, it didn't survive the axe. This is likely because NBC is planning to launch two new shows in the genre come the fall. That's Reba McEntire's return to comedy in Happy's Place and the workplace mockumentary St. Denis Medical. The former has been paired with Lopez vs. Lopez on Fridays and the hospital comedy will air on Tuesdays with Night Court.

Quantum Leap - Season 2

Quantum Leap

The sci-fi drama didn't get the same treatment that Law and Order: Organized Crime did. The reason according to NBC exec Jeff Bader, was due to ratings. In his words, it was "a much softer show, performance-wise," implying that a move to Peacock wasn't considered because it wouldn't give the series a second life. This is because the streamer is already the show's second viewership window and its performance wasn't boosted by it enough to warrant a shift to streaming.

La Brea - Season 3

La Brea

The show's six episode run for its third season was a dead giveaway that it wouldn't be returning but, just in case you're hoping that it'll return for a longer run of episodes, let me make clear that it isn't. Disappointing and convoluted or not, the season 3 finale does mark the end of La Brea. The decision to end the series was made before the Hollywood strikes in 2023 and NBC confirmed the show would be ending before the final episodes aired.

Magnum P.I. - Season 5

Magnum P.I.

Sadly, Magnum P.I. won't be back. The series ended with its fifth season which had its finale back in January. When news broke that NBC wouldn't be moving forward with a sixth season, it was disheartening for fans as it felt like there'd been a switch up. The network had picked the show up after CBS canceled it, and the reporting was that the procedural would have at least a two season run. Then that got cut to a fifth season that would be split into two parts and depending on how well the series did, a sixth season might move forward.

Magnum P.I. got final seasoned in June 2023 during the writers strike. At the time, the network had to choose whether to extend the cast options with no window on when the show might go into production again or end the show. Unfortunately, they chose the latter.
