Leighton Meester is making a return to TV in a new cop show from The CW, Roku, and Stan (an Australian streaming service)! Here’s what else to know about Good Cop/Bad Cop!

The CW has been in flux in the last few years thanks to some big behind-the-scenes changeovers from Nexster and the cancellation of scores of fun shows. The network is now into acquiring productions from Canada and other nations to boost themselves.

Such a series is Good Cop/Bad Cop. The plot focuses on Lou and Henry, a brother and sister pair of cops with a quirky relationship. They serve on the same police force in a Pacific Northwest town under the tough, demanding police chief, who happens to be their father.

Playing Lou is Leighton Meester, best known for her role as Blair Waldorf on The CW hit Gossip Girl. Henry is played by Luke Cook, who’s recognizable as Lucifer on Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Veteran actor Clancy Brown will play their dad, Big Hank.

The show's filming location is Queensland, Australia, with plans for it to premiere across the CW, Roku Channel, and Stan in 2025. It’s now added several more big cast members to flesh out the intriguing cast.

Who else is starring in Good Cop/Bad Cop?

Per Deadline, the show has just added a bevy of actors, including Devon Terrell, Grace Chow, Blazey Best, Philippa Northeast, William McKenna, Shamita Siva and Scott Lee.

Terrell will play “charming but nerdy Detective Shane Carson.”The actor had a role on Netflix’s Cursed and played Barack Obama in the biopic Barry as well as starring in the Sundance hit It’s What’s Inside.

Best will be “Big Hank’s somewhat cryptic Russian girlfriend Nadia.” Most of Best’s work is in Australia, such as the TV show Between Two Worlds, so this will be her first big exposure to U.S. audiences.

Lee plays “the loveable and long-tenured Officer Joe Bradley.” Another Aussie actor, he’s well known for being part of the long-running soap opera Home and Away along with several other Australian TV shows and films.

McKenna will portray “nervous wreck new boy Officer Sam Szczepkowski.” The actor starred in the series The Messenger, which aired on Australia’s ABC in 2023, as well as the cult sci-fi series Nowhere Boys.

Siva has been cast as “fearless and overly devoted Officer Sarika Ray.” Mostly known for stage work in Australia, she’s also a cabaret artist so the show might integrate some of experience into her character.

Chow plays “petite EVPD dispatcher with a morbid streak Lily Lim.” An award-winning stage actor in Australia, she has roles in TV shows like The Twelve and Mystery Road: Origin to her name.

Finally, Northeast is “brainy, stylish and funny Dr. Marci Laine, who is the one great love of Henry’s life.” Northeast is set to star in Netflix’s upcoming drama Territory and Paper Dolls which streams on Paramount+.

The use of an Australian-heavy cast is interesting as it means Meester and Brown are the only two Americans in the show. It’s also going to be interesting seeing Queensland standing in for the Pacific Northwest. It’ll be a bit before the show premieres but the cast and the setup make Good Cop/Bad Cop one to watch out for.

Good Cop/Bad Cop will premiere on The CW, the Roku Channel, and Stan in 2025.
